I have given him a lengthy reply with Liberties maths pointers... as it doesnt come accross outrightly apostate... allthough if he persists I will hit him with the facts on child abuse!!
I have taken comfort in your observations that he must be having doubts or he wouldnt need to convince me that the jw's are right!!

by student1 inhello guys, todya i recieved an email from an old friend of mine within the jdubs... he did the usual jdub thing get married really young and as such we lost touch.. he since found me on facebook and has been bugging me about my decision to leave, i talked to him a little but his mind is completely closed and irrational so i was having little success saving him from the cult and as sich i decided to end the call.. by saying "your happy and i'm happy so lets leave it be and aggree to differ" - however he wont let it rest this is his email: any help in responding would be most appreciated!!
ps... how ironic that he should mention george orwell when he lives within a cult that epitomizes the 1984 book!!

i have also determind that the facebook site is a curse, whenever i click on friends from the past, they are no longer witnesses?? what is going on..
p.s you know what you said about brainwashing... well, arnt we all living in a big brother, ORSON WELLES ESK.. society already, is the world getting better? no, is it getting worse? yes..
i have also done alot of research as to why there has been a number of elders who have mismananged things, and some border hypocrisy, and often some are incorrect, also there have been governing body members who have stated armageddon would fall in 1975, as well as a number of other dates.. watchtowers directing to this also?? why i thort could this happen if it is inspired through them (the watchtower and awake)?? well.. we are all imperfect including them... new evidence is uncovered all the time, therefore certain thorts and explanations get adjusted such as with all scientific proven events.. murder trials.. years later uncover knew evidence, not that the people investigating were not knowlegeable enough, but that new things come to light... the word as a whole based on the scriptures has never changed, certainly some people, and writings, ideas since have ammended. yes. but overall, the pros out way the cons.the reasoning of such things reasons more so than anything else.. -

Firstly my mother phones me... she asks me about my plans for xmas holiday and it is clear to her that I am celebrating the holiday (with my friends family naturally as I dont have my own family to celebrate it with)... while my mother says nothing derogatory she merely expresses that she would like to see me for lunch, the phonecall has weighed heavy on my mind this evening..
Later this evening a real blast from the past phoned me, he is still a Jdub I told him I am happy to catch up - talk about my job, my house, friends whatever but not jdubs.. anyway he wouldnt leave the subject alone and was intent on faulting my arguements against the cult with the most ludicrous of logic.. he asked me about the meaning of life and I replied that the meaning of life is to live it and not to spend all ones time annoying others by knocking on their door, studying books written by one group only and sitting at meetings!!
I am now having to turn off my phone to avoid his calls.. WHY DOES IT MATTER SO MUCH WHAT I BELIEVE??? I am happy to die without a silly hope? -

your poor son!! thats absolutely disgraceful... wow a first is amazing. My parents decided to come to mine, I assumed they wouldnt but for some reason they did (I havent seen them since tho!)
(I got a 2(1) its no first but I was very happy) especially as I had to move out and support myself through it as my parents were not supportive of my ambitions to get educated!!

Amen to that!!! excuse the pun!
Have been trying to remedy the situation with my sister, however while I have been apoligising in text messages and calling her too upset to go to bed she seems able to go to sleep! So I tried phoning the housephone - faced with my cold witch of a mother who is clearly incensed by my attempts to get said sister to miss a meeting for the sake of a bereaved 13 year old boy!! Her voice is like an icicle through my heart (god i need to toughen up!!)
As for better mates outside of the cult - your so right I rang my friend explained the situation and she said she would take me (just like that she will give up the day!! I have only known her two months and she has so much work to do - we are both on the same course at uni and have a whole world of work due in next week).
As it turns out the boys family have today been to see the body of their loved one and the planned visit is no longer appropriate!! So I need not have stirred up all this trouble and got myself into such a state - feeling so unloved by a cold family - I know its not them its the cult but knowing that doesnt stop it fucking you up!!
I think I will still go and see the dogs just for my own good as its nice to be reminded of someone that will love you unconditionally and thats exactly what dogs do.

My sister and I were extremely close but my departure has seperated us and we now rarely see each other. Recently my friend lost one of her son's in a hit and run and I thought that it would cheer the remaining brother if I took my puppies to see the remaining brother. The puppies went to a new home when I moved out of my place with a JDUB sister (as I couldnt find anywhere to rent with dogs)
My sister said to me that she would like to see me and I said "yes id like that too", so we made an arrangement for this sunday and i arranged with the new dog owner to allow me to take the dogs to see the little boy. Anyway the point of this story is that my sister lives a good distance away and by the time she has been to her meeting we wont get to pick up the dogs till 3.00pm and I told the owner lunch time. I asked my sister to leave the meeting early or not go as I dont want to take the mick with the new owner who is being so nice letting me take the dogs for the day anyway and I have a little boy to think of who is looking forwards to seeing them.
As you can all imagine my sister said absolutely not, I reasoned with her that this is a one off (its not as though we ever see each other! her response was absolutely not yet again! she never said she would miss the meeting i just thought when you say your gonna spend the day with someone you mean it not just a few hours and she knew about the dogs arrangement we have had it arranged all week
I feel like I am nothing to her, this just underlines how little I matter to her and lets not even talk about my parents they are even worse!!
It seems I died the day I left!!

i got glassed in town on a night out on saturday!!

I have moved to a new town and am living with two lovely girls ( well I do not really know them... but they seem nice)...
I have slipped off the elders radar.. no witnesses have my address.. can I relax? I think I have escaped disfellowshipping and hell if they caught me now.. would anyone care?? my parents maybe... oh well.... I dont care like I used to!
Anyway I need to focus.. as you all know I cant express myself with any clarity at the best of times, so a head injury is going to make my waffling posts so much worse hahaha. However I did come here with a purpose.... that purpose??? to announce that I am free..I am happy with my decision to leave...... rewind I AM OVER THE FLIPPING MOON!!!! for me the mysery of being stuck in jdub hell is now over, (my heart goes out to those still stuck in the borg).
Thank you all for your encouragement, I started out really low and have been up and down the whole time, you guys were such a strength to me. Thank you. I dont know whether any of you realise the impact and hope your posts of encouragement can have on someone so scared so alone... your posts were everything to me.
My encouragement now is to anyone else going through fade-away hell... stick with it, grit your teath, breath, stay strong and its definately worth it... The juice is worth the squeeze!!! The light at the end of the tunnel is lovely flattering light..... man you look so hot in that light!! Yummy! -

I had a guy talk to me about the witnesses in a night club on friday!!
by student1 inwhat a random turn of events, my jw housemate decided to show me she still liked me this friday.
she took me out for a rocking evening to celebrate my 2-1 result for my degree!.
this was rather nice as i had been getting increasingly jealous at the fuss others were making over her to make up for the horror of her best mate turning apostate!!
