In larger cities, this is not possible unless they rent out several stadiums at the same time in addition to the Kingdom Halls and Assembly Halls. Maybe they will provide a tie-line or link for a video stream?

Modern English means they are going to add/embellish some things.
The JWs are going to go wild over this. Prepare yourselves for the phone calls about this new loving provision at the proper time and how this is a clear sign we are on the brink...

Shunning for inactive ones?
by frogonmytoe ini visited my sister in a small town in the midst of the country, the town has a population of 3,000 and there's about 70 in the cong.
anyway, there was a local needs talk a few months ago about associating with family members who didn't live under your roof and no longer went to meetings.
one family of an elder dad and three sons (one an elder too, the others have stopped going) and a daughter (still going but married a 'worldly') are quite prominent and one half of a typical congregational feud.

This is not just in small towns. I know elders that were recently deleted for similar actions major cities. One has a kid that was never baptized but left the org many years ago and recently started a relationship again with the JW family so the grandchildren could know their grandparents. The Elder chose his family and was deleted.
Another has a baptized kid that walked away many years ago. Has regular association with Jehovah Witness family and relatives. Supposedly, they all knew the person lived with someone for several years unmarried and never reported it. There were several elder, MS and pioneer deletions.
Ridiculous!
With everyone I know that's been in this situation recently, they chose family over a title in the congregation.

Was Your Leaving The Witnesses A Very Gradual Process Or A Quick One?
by minimus infor me, it took many years.. even when i would read all the changes over the years from the "truth", i still would ignore it and "wait on jehovah" and try to be a positive force in the congregation.. eventually, i just couldn't take it anymore and resigned as an elder, and slowly but surely made my fade.. what about you?
were you out, in a short or longer time?
?.

I knew something wasn't right for many years and tried to wait it out in case I was wrong. When I decided to leave, I faded within a few months.

What piece of WT literature is worth holding onto, or have you kept? Why?
by losingit ini have basically thrown away all of my bound volumes and loose wt and awake magazines.
i kept some bpoks, the insight to the scriptures, god's love, the reasoning book, and daniel's prophecies (this was my favorite) .
i held onto insight to the scriptures after reading some of ray franz's book, crisis of conscience.

Tossed everything except the little NWT, a large print NWT, Illuminators book and a Bible Stories book. Held on to a song book, reasoning book and proclaimers book for a while but then got disgusted at the sight of them and to the trash they went.

Preaching work
by Kool Jo inhello folks:.
i was just thinking...what do you think the borg would look like if they said it's no longer necessary to do the preaching work...it's voluntary?
1. some would go tru the motions just to appear 'spiritually strong'.

TruJW,
I knew a pioneer that posted magazines to his rear passenger windows and counted his commute to work. The CO eventually ended that.
How about Jehovah Witnesses that prop a magazine on their lap while on the train or bus then fall asleep, stare out the window or on their cell during their commute and count that as service time? They don't talk to anyone, just display the mag...easy 20 - 40 hours each month.
