Why the prayer?...a little looney to me..this was not a bible study. Also, agree that the JW was arrogant in this first video, the guy did a good job at keeping the JW from dragging him down the rabbit hole. Will watch the rest of the videos later.

Must see video on Youtube where a JW is clearly defeated on the trinity subject...
by Tuesday inpersonally i hate bible ping-pong.
i don't think it ever gets anywhere, i don't think it solves anything and i don't think the participants ever make any head room.
however i will say in this case, i have been proven wrong.

Talk after talk after talk after talk after talk...you get the point. Some of the talks will have corny reenactments or experiences in them. They throw in a song followed by announcements mid-morning and mid-afternoon so you get a chance to stretch your legs. If you go, take candy or something to snack on to help keep you awake.
A number of young folks surf the net on their cellphone or spend the entire time texting. I know a JW that was a teacher and at DC on a saturday she brought final exams and sat waaaay in the top in a corner and spent most of the day grading papers.

The firedrill was hilarious...
This is kindof a showdown...during a CO visit, the CO wanted to talk to me about doing a part on the assembly. He asked that I stick around after the Sunday meeting until he finished the final meeting with elders. Well, the Sunday meeting had ended, the elders and CO are in the back elders room and I'm in the main hall chatting with a couple of folks that I had plans to go out to dinner with.
We were cracking jokes and reminding each other to be civilized in the hall because they might be able to hear us in the elders room. Then all of a sudden you hear VERY loud profanity coming out of the elders room. We all looked at each other and wondered what was going on. The CO stepped out of the room and asked if we could wait outside the hall and said that he should be done in about 20 min.
Anyway, about 5 mins later an MS comes walking out of the hall in a huff. We were all like 'where did he come from?'. It turns out the MS was in the meeting and wanted an explanation as to why he had not been appointed to elder. When he was told he was not ready and what he was lacking he laid into the elders and the CO. I wasn't surprised, the MS is very knowledgeable and did a lot with congo and many thought he should be an elder but he DEFINITELY had issues.
Later when the CO finished with the other elders and come outside...he immediately asked us to tell him everything we knew about the MS and his family.

You should ask to see your publisher card. He's probably putting down 15minutes or an hour for you. I've known several elders to do that in the past which makes no sense because its just so their group looks good at local congo...individual time is not sent to the branch. The branch has NO clue what you're doing in the ministry.

This DC is getting a lot of press all over the country and it makes the JWs look like a bunch of crazy people. However, I'm sure the JWs are excited about the coverage and interviews done with local elders.

The mirrors are covered so the women will spend more time paying attention and less time primping in the mirror.
Never stopped them though, most just pull out their compacts and touch-up their make-up in their seats. You can time it like clockwork...before a trip to the restroom, before the lunch break, before the session ends, before any assignment you may have (watching contribution boxes etc) ...because you never know when the super bethelite elder with goals of going to gilead and plans to be of the anointed is going to come around the corner and sweep you off your feet

** Asking the Hard Questions **
by FlyingHighNow ini picked up the holy trinity episcopal church june newsletter today.
this was included on page 5. i was raised in the episcopal church until the summer of 1970, when my mother moved us to atlanta after her divorce from my dad.
she stopped taking us to church, much to my detriment.

Maybe it was joke and I didn't get but...what's the difference between a High church and a Low church?
Is this church more of a social club than a religion?
Is Joyce Meyers of this church...I've watched her a couple of times and her style/message sounds like it may be from this church.

The League of Apostate Pioneers
by Megachusen inrecently it's come to my attention that the other teens in my congragation are being pressured by their parents to pioneer.
the main problem is that, like me, they're all "apostates".
because of this amusing turn of events, i'm thinking about starting my own apostate pioneering group with them.

Megachusen,
Do what you want but I'm going to recommend that you don't fake pioneering. That's time that could be used doing something more constructive than pretending to be preaching just to make your parents and/or others in the congregation happy. I don't care how easy it is too fake your hours...its time wasted if you don't believe it.
There are a number of scholarships available and companies that will still pay your tuition if you choose to further your education. If you are already out of high school, you can always talk with administrators at local colleges and universities about your options. Be true to Mega...please DO NOT waste these precious years that should be spent building a foundation for the rest of your life pretending to be a pioneer...you will regret it. You're young and single...its yours for the taking...go for it!!!
BTW...joining the Marines is very noble.
Live your life,
Shop.

Monthly Reports on studies???
by Lillith26 inok, so i've been doing my homework on the average practices of your reg pioneer and am trying to find out exactly how much of my personal information was "reported" by my ex-study friend, and exactly where it went and why they didn't ask for my permission first!
now i do get that who ever i was studing with/being converted by, would need to know my adress in order to get my place (as an avon rep a few years ago i kept a list of my clients details to deliver their items) and would likely keep a list of a few questions i had to better prepare for the next discussion we have, but why would it be necessary to pass my "private" information on to and elder and then on again to somewhere else from there every week/month?????.
i have seen a 'blank' version of these report cards (ministrygallery.com) and yeah iam somewhat pissed off!!!

A lot of information is also noted on the house-to-house record. For example, if you spoke to someone or left a tract, whatever, you would note down as much info as possible. Some you kept for yourself as RVs and others you would pass on the "brother" taking out the group or aux pioneer to help them with their time. Publishers would often pass their house-to-house records with notes about the person to aux and reg pioneers to followup on any interest found.
Also, too folks like to show off how familiar they are with the territory, so its common for them to share details about the folks in the area as they work from house to house. So its very possible that they know all about you before they even meet you.
