wow; I was killing threads five years ago too....
someone did this thread on a different forum, and i though it might be kinda fun to do it here.
post a picture, not of your desktop on your pc, but of your pc on your desktop!.
i'll go first.... .
my desktop:
(not really. I'm too lazy to go get the camera. But it's almost as bad!)
dragon lady's thread on do-it-yourself lemonade got me thinking about the dubs and "pioneer discounts" and such.
my first thought was, what if an ex-jw had a business that included a "jw surcharge"?
of course, the dubs wouldn't go, but some folks might patronize them for their anti-jw stance.
I don't see a problem with offering a particular religion discounts.
Businesses do it all the time for large employers and such; why not a particular religion?
was there ever such at thing in jw families, or is this phrase oxymoronic?.
sometimes the meetings encouraged "variety" in family studies, assigning certain research projects to different family members, or setting up a bible reading as though it were a play.. none of that happened in my family.
it was just dry question-and-answer.
haha..
ya, I remember annoying the living shit out of my dad when it was my turn to read, pausing about 3-5 seconds between each word...
and 1-2-3-4-5 Johober 1-2-3-4-5 killed 1-2-3-4-5 some 1-2-3-4-5 more 1-2-3-4-5 bad 1-2-3-4-5 peoples 1-2-3-4-5 cuz 1-2-3-4-5 they 1-2-3-4-5 pissed 1-2-3-4-5 him 1-2-3-4-5 off...
he'd turn beat red with anger...
Then we'd have to hear "You should feel fortunate to be a witless. When your dad and I grew up, we didn't have that priviledge!"
"priviledge'
Until recently I thought that word meant 'Torture'

my sibs and I made it really really hard on my parents.
If I had it all to do over again, I'd go back and make it even harder :)
i called hq under this guise: i am an interested person who has two jw'svisiting me periodically.
i think they are very nice people and we have good conversations, but recently something disturbed me.
i was suprised that they had no knowledge of the recent lawsuit settlements and actually denied it was true.
every once in a while I find something online that I fax over to them. I don't know why; I guess i thik it's funny. I do it when I've really bored.
But who knows. Perhaps someone will see or hear something there one day and be saved from a cult of shit
we've had a bit too much of the above.
temperature has been in the triple digits for ten days in a row.
everybody is lethargic and irritable.

i am collecting good trivia questions for a jehovah's witness version of trivial persuit.
i am particularly interested in trivia that pertains to the "unknown" history and practices of the organisation.. examples: .
what image is printed on the cover of the studies in the scriptures series?who was the only member of the governing body to be disfellowshipped?what year was the "faithful prophets of old" confidently expected to return to beth sarim?
What two members of the Governing Body were expelled from that body quietly amid speculation of homosexual activity?
