To All (My Dad died 12/21)Now Mom had a stroke
by Nancy K ini haven't been 'on' as my dad died 12/21 suddenly, before that i was about to do the 'lawsuit thing' to see my granddaughter, then 2 days ago my mother was rushed to the hospital and has had a mild stroke...i am totally out of it...but i do have 'good news'.. i'm going to see my granddaughter!!!!!
turns out, thru all of what's happened lately, i found out that my jw sister lied to my daughter 2 years ago, and she wasn't shunning me, she was upset about the fact my sister lied to her (causing this!
) it always 'comes back' as they say..karma, reaping what you sow, etc., ...thanks to all of you kind people..i can't wait to get back on and read the posts...you're doing a great service, to all like and unlike me!

by Tyler_Durden injust watched an episode of 80s sitcom 'married with children', al & peggy get mixed up with a gay couple, fairly funny stuff!
anyhoo.... there's a neat scene were al, answering his front door, says to himself 'i hope it's a jw cuz i feel like a nice deep chat' (or something like that) & he picks up a baseball bat as he opens the door!!
like i said, fairly funny stuff, but it got me thinking: what other tv shows/movies feature scenes with (or ref to) jws???

Another X-files episode, some nut job has a tatoo that talks to him. Two people ring the doorbell, a middle-aged white lady and a little black kid. They identify them selves...I can't remember exactly what happened next. But anyway, his talking tatttoo, a girl, said to him. "See what a loser you are, even Jehovah's Witnesses won't talk to you!"

Update on my little sister
by mamashel infor those of you who were so helpful in the hard time we were going through in my sister in laws case of abuse, i have some really good news.. she is 14 yrs old and her mother is a jw, totally active witness, her mother married the girls father after he served only 14 yrs of a 25 to life sentence for manslaughter.
he was released because the prison closed down and the others are overcrowded.
the mother married him, and after only 3 months of being out he started physically abusing the daughter(my hubby's sister).

Witnesses Now For Jesus - Who's Going?

after the battlefield that the last thread on this subject turned into, i'm almost afraid to post this, but it would be nice to see how many of you i might expect to see this weekend.. wnfj is the original ex-jw convention; this weekend (oct. 18-20) will be the 24th year.it is definitely christian in orientation, and features, music, prayer and talks on a variety of topics relating to jw's and biblical christianity.
