If you have been baptised in a church and wish to go to a different church (even if it is the same denomination) you will need to formally request to "move your letter". Should you fail to do this, the new chruch will never recognize you formally as a member, and you will get letters from your "old" church reminding you that they have not received any tithes from you. Then, they may start sending you a "church newsletter" to make you want to come see your old friends again.

Can I have an a la carte' baptism?
by DJPoetech incan i receive a proper baptism by one church in the name of the father, son, and holy spirit and then determine where i would like to go for fulfilling fellowship.
or do i have to get baptised each time i settle into a new location or go to a new church.
i would love to have something that will provide me a baptism and communion only deal with no strings attached.

A Christian who thinks his religious beliefs make him better than anyone else, has missed the point, in my opinion.
I absolutely agree with that.
My point is that it is not a personal issue, but a doctrinal issue.
Otherwise there would be no need for so many different religions each having varied interpretations, viewpoints, and twists on doctrine.
Each religion claims to have "something special" that makes them "closer to God" than the others. (not individual people)

The manipulation is sickening...
by AuroraB inso, i just had another run-in with the moms.
totally unrelated to the truth, but we just disagree on so many things, and instead of being respectful and agreeing to disagree, i got the standard, "something is wrong with your thinking and you're going to have a hard time of it if you don't change.
" or, in other words, start to believe what she believes.

The letter (prayer) is to Jehovah. The postage stamp (Jesus) is slapped on at the last second to make sure it gets to Jehovah.
Aude....hahahahahaha That is a brilliant analogy! And sometimes, the postage stamp is attached like it's an "afterthought".
Do your prayers seem to come back "insufficient postage"??? (that's a title for another thread! hahahaha you make me laugh.
Burns...
if indeed those writings and dictates of methodology were correct, would that not render as INVALID any baptism in which the participants were not instructed to fast for two days or did not comply?
Also would it not render swimming pool baptisms invalid? And also church baptismal pools which are filled with chlorine water?
Living water must be moving water...such as mikvah, stream, ocean. Lakes and ponds are non moving water. Would that not render lake/pond baptism invalid?

Burns....
where is the actual scripture to back it up for the dunk, sprinkle, living water (swimming pool is invalid) and that you must fast for 2 days?
Without the scriptural reference, it still seems to be "man's interpretation" and dictates.
Is there any actual reference of Jesus taking the action of baptising anyone with water? Please describe from scripture the methodology Jesus used.
From what I can see, the word "baptise" seems to take on the connotation like "deputize".
Is there any actual scriptural reference or description of one of the apostles baptizing another person with water?
Surely if it were a matter of such great importance there would be explicit direction of the ritual.
Don't you think?

"As you can see from this example, each religion seems to think they have some point of "superiority" that renders all other religions invalid."
Just because the pentacostals might, it doesn't mean all other religions do tula.I think you are wrong Zico.
If each religion did not have some point of "superiority" that renders all other religions invalid, then there would be one universal religion.
Each denomination, cult, sect, whatever...thinks they have a unique position, doctrine, etc. which makes them closer to God than anybody else.
If there were no ideas of superiority, there would be no need for divisions and such a myriad of denominations.

Stop Blaming Saturated Fat
by freydi inthat is incorrect as saturated fats raise both the good and the bad cholesterol and they do not cause fatty deposits in the arteries.
this is because all vegetable oils oxidize; especially when used in cooking.

TRANS-fat is actually a trans-plastic isomer. Once ingested, it adheres to fat molecules. It may be a contributing factor in an inability to loose weight because it does not burn off like fat. It's not bio-compatible with the human body.
If you would like to know more about trans-fats (and also a lot of shocking info on soy) go to Weston A. Price website.
The coconut oil is good info. I use the oil as well as coconut cream. I blend smoothies with coconut milk. It's healthier to make your own cocnut milk from the coconut cream. Most of the canned stuff has sulfites.
For "butter" I use organic ghee.

You are directing your anger and hurt toward the wrong person.
Think about little Crumpet when she was 7.
Go back in time and see yourself as a child.
You are feeling that helplessness now.
Stop cutting.
You need to protect little Crumpet.
Someone is trying to hurt her.
Don't let them make her do this.
You must love little Crumpet.
There is no one else to save her right now.
You must love the little child in Crumpet.
Don't let people do this to her.

Looks like the Catholics are trying to get a word in. This seems in bad taste to me.

TAMARAC, Fla. -- The body of an unidentified man was found floating in a Tamarac canal behind a Jehovah's Witness assembly hall late Monday morning.
A resident from the 5900 block of Abbey Road returned home shortly before noon and saw what appeared to be a body floating across the canal from the back yard of the townhouse.
Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded and confirmed it was the body of a man in his late 20s or early 30s. The body was found near the edge of the canal behind the Jehovah's Witness Assembly Hall, 5811 N. Pine Island Rd.
BSO homicide detectives said preliminary indications are that the man accidentally drowned. His body was removed from the water and taken to the medical examiner's office, where an autopsy will be conducted.
