working for JW's

as a jw i mainly worked for brothers.

a lot seem to be in the construction industry.

probably because they are uneducated, because anyone who does work construction (like me) is stuck in it.

Garland B was an elder who worked at a manufacturing firm. Bill S, a lowly publisher, worked for the same company (in a different department)

The only time their paths would meet was at the break room. Garland had the audacity to order Bill to clean up if Bill left something on the table when he went back to work. Garland hounded Bill so much for every little nit picking thing that Bill quit the "truth" What a favor "Lord" Garland actually did for Bill by being a hounding, no-account bastard!

Garland hounded me also but I was so convinced I was "in the truth" I stayed on and on and on knowing that something was wrong with such an organization but continuing to "wait on Jehovah" to deal with the matter. I look back and think "how could I have been such an idiot for so long?"

Ahhhh yes ... those wonderful "quick-builds"

When they did the quickbuild in Siloam Springs Arkansas in the late 1980's I was a member of that cong and in the building trades myself. When I saw what shoddy work they were doing on the roof I tried to point out to them what a mess they were actually making. They didn't care so I said no more.

When they held the open house one local "worldly" builder came. I noticed him sighting down a long wall. I grinned and said 'pretty crooked isnt it' and he smiled, shook his head and rolled his eyes.

I really prefer to go a little slower and do a better job.

I think the quickbuilds allow "little" men to get out of their home responsibilites and be "big" men in other places.

Elders reading coasters postings for judical reasons

elders, please know my many dificulties for the past 16 years and the emotional toll it has taken on me.

i found this site at my doctors doctors direction as a place to learn and vent frustrations built up in me for years, and i am sorry some of the language was bad as the word chioce.

a two week inense manic high here with way more freedeom to spead just go me going.

one of those times i was engaging in an endeavor that was not acceptable to the society but i went ahead and accepted the appointment

now, did the holy spirit make a mistake or was it so vital that the servant body had my expert help that my sins were overlooked?

How ethical is it to sow DOUBT in the minds of sincere Jehovah's Witnesses?

we know that we can't always take the direct approach and we know that even a short, reasonable discussion is often out of the question with jw's we may love dearly so we often try to place a little doubt in their minds.

we want them to start questioning cherished beliefs.. is this fair of us?

are we placing our our own agendas ahead of their needs?

I sowed doubt in everyone elses minds for years. I have an ETHICAL & MORAL obligation to try and sow doubt about the wt in the minds of the many people that I put in great effort with to get them into the org

What does your city/town smell like??

while on vacation, we drove through amarillo.

the smell of cattle was everywhere.

for the citizens of amarillo, texas, that is the smell of money.. in my town, we have the nearby paper mill, weyerhaeuser.

I was working on a pig-farmers house and I asked him how he could stand the terrible smell. He sniffed the air and replied "it smells like money to me"

many wt teachings have a foul odor but active jw's learn to overlook it because the wt is suppossedly leading them down the path to life.

But with the addition of UN crap and the pedophile crap I had to quit. I could no longer find boots tall enough to wade through it all without getting crap on my tender little body

So, I guess my answer about how does your town would smell would be ----- any town with a kingdom hall has a rotten stench in the air

rSelling signs

i always joked about a way to finance my ministry.

i said i would have signs in my bag saying "jw's stay away" to sell to the adament ones i met.. now that i am old and broke, thanks to the wt convincing me not to grow my business, i think i will take to the streets once again actually sell such signs.

One day at the door the householder asked me "are you the watchtower"? i replied "no, im awake"

another one said "are you jehovah?" i thought he was going to say are you jehovah witness so i answered in the affirmitive

walking away from the door the older bro with me said "we are going to have to have a judicial meeting with you"

i asked him why he replied, "you can't go around claiming to be Jehovah" and laughed at me

We are free to love

what i have noticed since pulling away from group thinking, mindsets, rules and superstitions, that i am open to a broader range of loving people.. i am not sure i can blame all this on the jw expericance.

as children we are taught from our tribe, (family and enviroment, church, school, extended family, neighborhood..........who to love and who not to love.

i used to believe as the witnesses taught, you have to "beat" the evil out of children.. have you ever watched a group of small children unattended?

I didn't realize you are such a deep thinker! I thought you were just a pretty face.

I think I know why you fooled me about the deep thinking. When your were a jw you were not allowed to think and now you are out of that corrupt org your mind is free to soar and you express yourself quite well.

I must say--I was a jw for 35 years and I don't remember seeing much love anywhere in the org.

Hi all

I was dunked in 1972 --- even did a stint as a regular pioneer --- sold the damn tires and wheels off the mobile home to buy gas to preach!

Lots of things i didnt like through the years. They tried dfing me three times cuz i pointed out some of the elders wrongdoing to them

When my wife died (after 15 years on kidney dialysis without taking any blood) she told me "Don't have a funeral for me cuz i dont want the sons of bitches to come to it and salve their consciences." They wouldnt come while alive so she was adamant about it. She had been a jw for 30 years when she died. There really is not much love in the wt orig. If you are sick and die soon they help you but long term they evaporate into the mists.

I read deeply over the years. I never liked miracle wheat, tirades against aluminum cookware, and Russells craziness. But the UN crap and hiding the peds was the straw that broke this old camels back. I overlooked so much garbage cuz i thought there was so much good in the orig.

But now I say---can something clean come out of something unclean? It sure CAN"T!
