wow, this is just too cool!! even though i came into the wbs as an adult (and with unbelieving husband, no less) i always dreaded the dcs and so did my poor kids! of course i could never speak of that outloud (it would show that i didn't have jw spirit). the 4 days dc were so bad but how about the 9 day dc, from morning till night, in light of that i guess we had it good!!

i began my fade about 5 years ago and haven't been to a dc since then. what a relief!! of course my sister no longer talks to me even though i am not df'd!! actually, come to think of it, that is a relief too

i love this forum!

howdy all, i just happened to be in your neighborhood and thought i'd ring your doorbell to tell you the good news about jehovah's kingdom, and if you don't believe every damn word of it you're going to die a horrible death real soon m*th*rf*ck*r thought i'd say howdy.. like it says on my profile, i wasted my vulnerable teen years in the watchtower bible and crap society, and it nearly killed me.

funny thing is, i wasnt coerced into it by my family, they were all worldly (well except for a very eccentric old great uncle that nobody liked or visited) and thought i was out of my fucking mind to join up with that jw shit.. which i was.

understandably, because my parents drank too much, there were truly horrible fights every night at home, a very bitter divorce when i was 10, and only child me was trapped in the middle of all that with no one to turn to.

until i found this forumi felt so totally alone. whether we have been raised as a jw just coerced into becoming one...we all share a common bond...one that no one outside of the WTS could ever understand...

when i began to fade i felt so totally alone! been in the "truth" for 25 years, and just going through the motions for about 15. just stop and think the common thread in all of our stories pain, isolution, it's all there. i look back now with so much regret. birthdays that i missed with my boys, christmas, thanksgving, not to mention mother's and father's days. i can't get them back but i rejoice that my little grandson will never be exposed to this horrible way of life. btw, he will be 2 yrs old sept first and we are gonna have a big party!

also, i have posted some in the past, after hours at work or lunch breaks since i did not have a computer at home. i am now in the 21st century, i have a home computer!!

welcome new guy from tx, you will find comfort and friends here. ones that do understand because we have all lived through the horror of the wbts.

Dropped from my Bible Study like a hot potato

i had a bible study with a jehovah's witness for the past year and a half.

i was also attending meetings, but never went out in field service.

during a recent study, i told the conductor that i didn't believe in the 'annointed' & didn't believe the fds had a 'hotline' to jehovah.

Welcome navytownroger, you have many friends here. I don't get to post often b/c i don't have a computer at home, but will soon. I love this forum. i no longer feel that i am alone or that i am a bad person b/c i have left the wt. i am currently visiting my son on the east coast and using his computer. BTW, he was df'd about 12 years ago b/c he was drinking at a party with other jw kids, but they only df'd my son, none of the other elder or ms kids. That was the beginning of the end for me. When I found this forum, it was like a breath of fresh air for me. even tho my sis wont talk to me, i will never go back. we are truly free here!

Congrats to you for standing up to them!! you have truly dodged the proverbial bullet by not getting involved in this horrible, horrible cult!

What makes someone so sure...

on another thread that i started i asked what is wrong with the new age ideas.

some people seem so afraid of it.. one poster mentioned that new age stuff is incorrect because jesus is for sure gonna come take us away from this world.. now i am opened minded.

If god is as he appears (if you believe he exists) then he truly is selective in who he saves and who he doesn't. At the time this child was injured, I guarantee that on the other side of town a child was being abused, molested, dying of cancer or some other horrible sickness. I could go on and on. No matter how many times I raise this issue, no one that says they believe in god can offer an explanation. You just must "have faith."

I was a JW for 25 years, and truly all of those years I could not come to terms with this issue. We were taught that he is a loving god...but gee, somebody has to suffer, even babies and children so they can appreciate living in the new system!! NO THANKS!!

More Evidence that Jehovah Is a Tyrant

i have observed that jehovah god is far from the loving father he portrays himself to be.

stifling my sex drive, and then exploiting it by using it to get me into a cult, hardly qualifies god as being loving.

and neither does continuing to stifle the sex drive after i am trying to leave the cult and quite likely using the hounders to reclaim me as their slave.. i found another web site that any theist should urgently look up before looking into any religion, whether jehovah's witnesses or any other "christian" or islam religion.

Well Rapunzel, it's just more of the same from OBVES. It just reinforces my reasons for leaving the WT. This kind of thinking makes me ill. It is always the same glossing over reality that just amazes me. Always dancing around the real issues on the table.

OBVE - If you feel that way, why are you even on this forum?? Just go on your merry way. I noticed you did not even address one of the statements I made in my reply. Hmmm, I wonder why that would be? Could it be that you don't have any direct answers for what was written in my post?

Do you have children? Would you just stay out of the way if one of them was being tortured or killed?? If you wouldn't, why is it acceptable for Jehovah to with almighty power to do anything he wants??

WT- I am so in agreement with you. Would any one of us that are loving parents to our children, sit back and calmly watch as our children are abused, tortured, starving, killed in earthquakes, famine, hurricanes and disease (just to name a few) if we had the power to save them?? How can he call himself a loving god when he doesn't lift a hand to help his children when they are in harms way. Anyone that believes that he is a god of love is kidding themselves.

I was a JW for 25 wasted years. Years that I cannot turn back and celebrate my children's birthdays, Christmas, etc. Those years are lost to me forever because of being in this horrible cult!!

Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw

i thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.

i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!

she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

Be very careful and think long and hard before going back. During the time that my son was inactive, two "loving brothers" came to see him and they both told him that they really missed him and would be please come back. He went to one meeting and before leaving the hall that night, they had him in the back room and told him they were going to have to disfellowship him (for something he didn't even do!) He begged them not to do it and sent a heartfelt letter. They had set him up to be DFd. They did the very same thing to my step daughter.

That was the beginning of the end for me. I started to fade until I finally I stopped going at all. I will NEVER, EVER set foot into another KH.

Real Good News

this must be a sign of what will lie ahead for the j-dubs (at least in the united states).

this last weekend at the special day circuit assembly i went to, not a single person got baptized (zero, zip, nada) and the funny part was that they still had to give the baptism talk because it was already in the program schedule.

hopefully people are starting to catch on and we'll have a few more "zero baptism" assemblies.

i remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.

the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.

they weren't just happened upon, though.

I was married to an "worldly" man who refused to let me take our children to the hall, i would have to get a sitter if he wasn't home. one nite for the service meeting he was out drinking and i decided i would take the kids anyhow. about halfway into the meeting, he came in and stood at the back of the hall, totally wasted and said in very loud voice that he was there to get his kids. i was so embarrassed! i left and drove the boys home since he was drunk and i wouldn't let them go with him.
