Because the senior officers would literally go to prison if the records were destroyed now...

I spoke to the investigator st the CC and he said they're looking at child abuse issues, domestic abuse issues and punitive shunning, he said they had a productive meeting with WTS and the trustees asked them where was their proof that there were problems in theses areas for the WTS. so if the CC went to gather evidence and they have many testimonies now of people mistreated and abuse mishandled. WTS threw down the gauntlet and asked for proof now it's gonna bite them in the ass. Anyone with an experience if you haven't done so already call the Charity commission!!
Overall the question they have to answer apparently as a charity is if as a whole they benefit society. A legacy of abuse victims ignored and mistreated, abusers coddled, domestic violence condoned and families torn apart by shunning says NO! This could be very bad in a big way for the JWS in UK.

I understand there are penal sentences if records are destroyed in the midst of an ongoing enquiry. I think there are some higher ups with history as abusers, either that or there are shocking numbers. Why else would watchtower fight so hard in USA and Uk to conceal the records?

Recent mistakes of the Governing Body contributing to the decline of JWs
by slimboyfat inthey have made so many strategical mistakes it's hard to keep track.
some changes within the last decade or so that are contributing to declining numbers of jws:.
1. elimination of book study groups, the most informal, enjoyable and sociable of the jw meetings, contributed to loss of sense of community among jws.. 2. policy of consolidating kingdom halls.

So so true! I would add strengthening anti-education and shunning policy instead of relaxing it. Plus letting Tomo ad-lib!

New Monthly Broadcast - BE LOYAL! - Shut Up and Sit Down!
by ttdtt inthe new broadcast is - predictably - about being loyal to the gb.it's a shut up and sit down message.. one of the funny things they keep bringing up is the correlation between the gb and moses.those who don't listen to the gb are like korah.. this is a false choice, why?let's look at a quick comparison.
(this is from the point of view of the bible).
was moses directly picked by god?- yeswas the gb directly picked by god?- well no, we actually are not told how the gb are picked and why the qualify.. did god talk to moses?- yesdoes god talk to the gb- no, they admit they are not in direct communication.. did god inspire moses to write laws and judge.- yesdoes god inspire the gb to write laws and judge.- no, they admit they are not inspired, and they are always wrong and need to change things all the time.. did god give the israelites undisputable proof that moses is his channel?- yes, many miracles visible to everyone one around happenddoes god give jws undisputable proof that the gb are his channel?- no, there is no proof, actually contrary.. was moses ever wrong?- nohas the gb ever been wrong?- every time.

Bumping this thread because it is really important that as many victims as possible come forward with their experiences of family shunning, domestic abuse and child abuse etc. the charity comission has to show proof that the WT policies are damaging and therefore the charity is not beneficial to the public, with actual case studies, the more the better.
i am providing my experience of mishandling of domestic abuse and my kids problems with the bad association rules and difficulties leaving leading to depression etc. I urge more to do the same.

I've just replied about my experience in a JW abusive marriage, I went to elders several times over the years and was told to be more submissive, work on my Christian personality and that the abuse was not bad enough to justify separation. Thankfully I eventually woke up and left the abusive relationship and the abusive religion. It never became life threatening in my case, although left a lot of damage on me and my kids. Nevertheless the elders current way of dealing with this could easily result in vulnerable young women being sent back into potentially dangerous situations, and I hope this commission changes that.

All 3 Steig Larsson dragon tattoo books are great.
For Thrillers I also love Harlan Coben and Linwood Barclay, both write unputdownable thrillers.
I'm reading The Girl on the Train right now, good yarn!
I find its a great way to de-stress and unwind, reading a good novel.

I'm so sorry for all that you've been through and the lack of human compassion and support that your received from the elders. I would not be surprised AT ALL if there are some very senior members of the WTS on this list that they are so anxious to conceal, from the top down it is otherwise inexplicable how unwilling they are to protect the victim, in cases like this even seeming to prefer to support the perpetrator and to demonize the victim and their family.
