they're not saying it's wrong to hit either - that's the point...
The point is how to dodge bullets, not how to judge others.
have anyone of you read, the absolutly jaw dropping paragraph in this article about a women who was hit by her husband?
its in page 25 of the 2/15/12 wt study edition (i read the dumbed down version).. .
if there was any question, that the watchtowers stance is for wives to simply take it when their husbands abuse them, this makes it crystal clear.. who the hell is scanning these things before they go to print?

AnneB, are you serious?
Absolutely serious. They're using an inflammatory example, but the point would be the same no matter what example they used: Don't push people past their limits. They're not saying it's right to hit, they're saying if you don't learn to respect someone's limits bad things can happen.

Emotions aside, what they're saying is don't push someone past his or her limits. Makes sense and there's nothing wrong with it.
The brother who sings loud but doesn't read the words correctly from the song book and the sister who sits in the back row and who secretly wanted to be an opera singer.
i just came across this on another thread with pictures/photos ,is this for real ?
i couldnt beleive my eyes or ears?.
the control that this organization has over it`s members... is ..is ... well it`s a cult !!
Try touring Bethel in January, parking blocks away, then walking through ice and snow wearing meeting clothes, anklets and dress shoes on the little girls, dress shoes with high (but not too high!) heels on the women, suit pants and dress shoes for the males. If you have infants or young children that need to be carried, add that to the misery. Freezing winds, blowing snow, no warm winter coverings because it doesn't even get chilly most of the year where you live. By the time you get to the first building you're frozen to the bone, and you still have to walk from building to building if you want to see as much as you can. They didn't serve refreshments to visitors, not so much as a vending machine for hot chocolate!
We were miserable but tried to put it aside so we could reap the spiritual benefits. We put everything we had into serving Jehovah and making The Truth not just a part of our lives but our purpose for being.
If there's any credit out there for trying to do the right thing whole-souled...
Saying "I do" instead of "No".
..."that the bible does provide,.

March if you must, but throw in a few calisthenics to make it worth your time!
But did she die because she refused the blood transfusions or was that just part of the series of events which made up her life? It would be just as easy to say something like "my sister died this morning after having four children", but there might be no causal relationship between the two elements of the sentence.
My condolences on the loss of your sister.
the watchtower constantly talks about elders doing everything "in love" and being reasonable and balanced, and not being masters over their brothers' faith (hypocritically).. but when elders receive specific direction from co and training from schools and letters, they go over mostly procedures, procedures, rules, how to obey the gb and if the friends dont like it, too bad because its from jah's organization.
and procedures.
so they are trained to go by the book, and if love can be shown, cool.
IMO, WT makes the elders scapegoats, but I would say it's to relieve themselves of legal liability rather than to make themselves look better.

When a song plagues me like that it usually means there is something in the lyrics to fit a current situation, either "for real" or because whatever I internalized through the words is ready to be put under a microscope, but in either case, the song applies somehow to something I'm currently dealing with. Maybe it works that way with you, too.
Hokey or not, if you have all the words to the song I'd appreciate it if you'd post them. Sometimes it helps to go through line by line and see just where the logic goes bad, if it does. The only other part of that song I remember is "On many occassions God spoke long ago, by means of his prophets on earth here below". What else does it say?
