I know they mean it with good intentions I suppose its like a Mormon thinking about proxy baptism.

It was me being a 'good dubbie' but batting my eyelashes at the fact that 1914 in 1914 isn't at all what it is for us today.....
I wonder how many years until they change 1914 to some other date or decide to just stop mentioning it altogether.

What's in your current meeting bag?

on a similar vein, i've been thinking of all the books i can leave behind once our kh blesses the ipad phenomenon.
in the meantime, this is what i have to lug in and why:.

*ereader w/wireless earbuds
*WTs highligted, underlined & marginal notated but rarely cracked during the study.
*couple notepads & pencils
*greenie
*songbook
*waterbottle
*washable crayons, theocratic printouts and non-offending picture or beginning reading books
FS bags are usually various purses that have front slits to display tracts and Bible Teach book that are uber handy for 'retail FS'.
My current FS bag has 2 Bible Teach and 5 tracts, 2 WTs, 2 Awakes kept organized a folio when doing d2d

If I know kids are coming I pack various activities and snacks/drinks....

A resounding YES!!!
Granted in the year 1914:
A) Russell was still alive and hailed to be the 'Faithful and Discreet Servant'
B) The parousia was professed/taught to have occurred in 1874 (enthronement in 1878)(Please note the change of the enthronement from 1878 to 1914 occurred under Rutherford's presidency. The change of the parousia from 1874 to 1914 occurred under Knorr's presidency. Presently these revisions are still professed/taught by the WTS)

When You Were A JW Were You Disturbed By "Apostate" Literature or "Apostates" At Conventions?

When I was a little girl I was told they were demon possessed (apostate and Christendom protesters)......total acceptance of that explanation.
They scared me....
I could see some fun in placing literature on windowshields while the Convention was going but that is probably only possible if a secondary event is being hosted by the venue.......at least it would give the Brothers monitoring the parking lot something interesting to do besides patrol around in golfcarts....heck the finding of said literature would get a few extra MS or younger Brothers out of the Convention to help remove the literature....a few would read I am sure and it would create some interesting storytelling/rumor.......rest will be chalked up to 'persecution'
I am never gonna be that bold......but if anyone does a stunt like that I soooo want pics posted on JWN!!!!

Homecoming Bonfires--Did/Does your school do them????
by yknot inso last night i and two other dubbies ditched cbs to attend the homecoming bonfire..... already got talked to informally about my "priorities" but we had a blast so no regrets!!!.
as i spend my afternoon tweaking my daughter's mum and son's garter i can't help but wonder...... * did/does your school have homecoming bonfires?.
* were you allowed to attend?.

So last night I and two other dubbies ditched CBS to attend the homecoming bonfire....
Already got talked to informally about my "priorities" but we had a blast so no regrets!!!

I am sure it will be a few more days before names begin popping up....
My *understanding* is it has been mostly girls cast as extras....in the hopes (or promises) of him helping their careers.
