Thank you for such loving responses! As I said in my original post...I no longer associate - at all. I do believe in the bible - and get this I picked up a HOLY BIBLE and read it. from front to back. I was amazed to find so many of my beliefs were based on what had been taught to me. However, as I said I am still struggeling with some of the ingrained beliefs.
Reading the bible uncovered the most powerful belief stripping information the first is "He will know us by our works" some translations "our love". The two greatest commands as stated in the NT Love God and Love your nieghbor. NOT go to meetings, don't drink caffine, practice confession, ect. He will know us by the way we love each other (christians) and by the way we love others. Can you imagine what would happen to RELIGION is that was taught? Just a thought.
The next stripping came after some agonizing struggle - but i "caved" and researched the orgin of the JW religion. Although the dates all sounded familiar - I was unaware that they were the foundation of the JW religion (as well as other religions) The HOLY BIBLE clearly - very clearly - states NO ONE KNOWS THE HOUR IN WHICH I AM COMING - ONLY THE FATHER.
HELLO! wow That verse blows a few religions out the way. Would it not be a practice of ?sourcery?diviniation? or just plain ANTICHRIST to believe and then teach that you (as in religion) are as great as GOD and you can unwrap and predict what GOD & JESUS both warn and state is unpredictable! HA. Who needs to be disfellowshipped now?
So the urgency of my new found faith is not based on how many hours I can "get in" rather on how my life can be changed into one that is based on and in love. With my new found faith came another realization - If I do my best to live as Christ lived- as a servant-meek-humble-loving OF ALL - and forgiving (way forgiving) - would I not be a better advocate for GOD and salvation by not fearing worldly people. Christ has chosen me, therefore I need not walk in fear! Let my life be the light of your love Father God. Don't color me stupid- I'm not walking dangerous streets with a belief God will protect me, but I am allowing myself to participate in life. Go to a football game, don't get drunk, be kind and cuteous. Go to the movies and not throw trash on the floor. Return the $5.00 that the bank teller over paid me. Live kind, live honest, live true.
One last comment PLEASE skip the comments on my spelling - I read very well, thank you ministry school, but was denied that higher education, that's where you learn to spell - right?

Does the WTS teach that Jehovah is only "Heavenly Father" to the 144k?
by yaddayadda ini don't know if it is my imagination or what, but i've started to notice something odd in recent wts literature (besides all the other odd things): .
i am struggling to find any mention in recent watchtower articles and publications of jehovah being referred to as the "heavenly father" of jehovah's witnesses!
for example, in the upcoming october 22-28 watchtower study article entitled "your father is merciful" (quoting from luke 6:36), god is not once referred to as "heavenly father" throughout the entire article!

It is interesting to me that in the recent years so much more emphasis is placed on Jesus, growing up Jehovah was my God and Jesus' death only allowed me the ability to pray to Jehovah, I just don't remeber Jesus being that important of a figure.
As for the two class - I believe it's in John where the two class' are identified. I am confused on the Jehovah only being God for the 144,000 - because I thought the 144,000 were to reign with Jesus. So when witness' pray "Dear Heavenly Father..." who are they praying too? Now there is a Heavenly Father and an Eternal Father? But Jesus is not equal to Jehovah?????? I'm confused are you?

My heart was shaped by a very traumatic event 3 yrs ago this labor day. For the first 2or so years the worst part of the event was that I lived. In March (this year) at another pitiful moment, feeling hopeless, dispare and desperate I had a "spiritual" moment. It occured that God had saved me. I felt - in my body - an overwhelming NEED to worship God. The call was so strong that I knew if I looked God would show me where I needed to go. I could not fathom ever stepping into a KH again, (after thier response to my traumatixing event I survived betrayal and casting off by my faith and my family) or praying with a memeber of what had been my faith for over 30 years.
I got out the phone book and opened it up to churches. I knew no other faith or place of worship. Through what I believe was His divine grace I ended up in Church! a very comforting message was given. I have found a place that I can go I do not feel FEAR (ex JW's understand) fear of the demons in this place. I have attended regularly since March, beyond not being afraid I have felt lifted up and inspired and comforted. I feel the Holy Spirit - well as much as my body will allow.... my question....
I have never called on the Holy Spirit and I have never had a heavenly hope, I am afraid that my belief system was put in place at such a young age (baby) that I lack the ability to desire heaven. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I ....I can't even type the question. My fingers are paralized just trying to form words....Will I ever recieve a heavenly hope? Have you?
