i had a doctor's appointment last week, and we talked about the blood issue.
i informed her that i was no longer a jehovah's witness and that i would accept blood if it meant my life.
she reminded me that she will make a note of it, but that i should inform the local hospitals--in the event that i had to be hospitalized and was in a coma and couldn't speak for myself.
It's true. Hospitals do have records of us as Jehovah's Witnesses. I recently went to a local hospital which I'd never been to before and they had me down as a JW who refuses blood.
I told them to change their records which was no problem. As yet I have not called the other hospitals in our area to change my status with them.

The more you say, the worse it will be. Trust me I know it's hard but just bite your tongue. We can't talk these people into not being in a cult we just have to wait. We have more time then they do. They're running out of money and their power is getting watered down by the internet and education so in the words of Mccartney "let it be"
i was going to post a 'welcome' message for all the new people who may have got a computer for christmas and are making their first forray into the online world.. of course, not many jws are going to be getting a computer or much else for christmas right?.
kinda-strange for me to forget about such a big thing like that eh?!
it's pretty good though to have moved on so that the jw indoctrinated mindset isn't the first thing that springs to mind.. hope you're all having a great christmas and wherever you are in the recovery process that you feel a little bit better today than you did yesterday, more free and relaxed than you did last year and looking forward to your new life in 2011.. there's going to be lots of changes coming for this site hopefully in the next week or so and probably continuing over the next year.

last year there was drama surrounding the time and i never really focused on it.
