megaflower, I have to disagree with you. She is a puppet raised by JW's who want it both ways. Success in the world and everlasting life as promised by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
She is first human and second a Jehovah's Witnesses. She doesn't really believe the things she was taught by the Governing Body but she is obligated to play the game because of her parents.

Phillip, That was the most incoherent post I have ever read. It doesn't make sense. Please try to reword it. Don't use JW speak use regular human language.
Maybe I'm stupid but I have to tell you your post really sounds fanatical. I have to now think that you have possible mental problems. Perhaps bi-polar or schizophrania. This is not uncommon amongst Jehovah's Witnesses I hope that you are taking some kind of medication to control your unruly mind.

my wife and i had a "bible study" with an elder and his wife yesterday (9-11-09) and the topic was marraige.
the book we covered was "keeping yourself in god's love.
" this particular "bible study" was based primarily on the topic we covered in the book and, of course, there was a lot of "hop scotching" of the bible.

Stillin, the answer to your question is happening as we read. Many of us are still in and we are "making sure" and we are doing "self-examination" and that is why many of us though still in are no longer attending meetings, going out in field service. We have faded. Through our examination we have determined that the teachings of the Watchtower are no better then other men's religions. All it amounts to is men teaching men what only god knows. We have discovered the true meaning of the scripture "do not put your trust in nobles or in the sons of earthling man to whom no salvation belongs"
This is the reason the Watchtower doesn't want the rank and file to make sure and do a self-examination. Oh unless it is done using only Watchtower literature. The funny thing is even if only Watchtower literature is used the rank and file can see (that is if they look at it with and open mind) that the "Truth" really isn't the truth at all. It's just another group of men telling men what to do.
Maybe if you are on this forum long enough, you too will become inactive. Maybe you already are.

watchtower way back in 1955 p. 93-95 explains that 6,000 years of human history would end in........1976!
a decade later in franz's book "life everlasting freedom sons of god" 1966 his chart revised one year down to 1975.. "crisis of conscience" mentions how knorr argued with franz in the early 70's as he wanted to revise it back to 1976....anyone remember this!.

What does that last quote mean?
Doesn't it mean that the governing body is channeling God?
These are the types of thoughts that the rank and file Jehovah's Witnesses have been riddled with ever since the Watchtower started publishing their religious rags over a hundred years ago.
Sure, they didn't DIRECTLY say 1975 was the year of Armageddon they don't have to directly say anything, all they have to do is point the rank and file members a certain direction and they will do the rest. After all, are not the leaders channeling Jehovah? And aren't the rank and file supposed to be sheep and follow everything the GB thinks or says or does?
