  What's wrong with the spirit of competition?

  I hit enter too soon,

  So today my wife and I are playing a game with our 4 year old granddaughter who's mom is a semi serious JW and our son who just follows along. I'm sure neither of them push the issue of winning but as we're playing the game, she is clearly competitive.

  Isn't this the way it should be? It seems to me that being competitive and wanting to be the winner is just the right thing to do. However Jehovah's Witnesses seem to downplay competition to a point where it's wrong on many levels.

  The reason I think a competitive spirit is important is because the whole cosmos and it's continuation is reliant on survival of the fitist.

  Am I wrong?

  Elder 3: I asked him to do it last week, he must have forgotton

  Elder 1: I think he was too busy this month pioneering to do it

  Elder 4: Whatever that's no excuse I say we remove him as a ministerial servant for not following through with his duties.

  Elder 1: Maybe we can do it

  Elder 2: We are too busy being teachers to do that kind of work

  Elder 3: Let's just get that other brother that's been kissing our a**es lately to do it

  Elder 4: Good Idea and if he follows thourgh we'll make him a ministerial servant.

  How Did You Get Rid of Your Bound Volumes?

  my town will no longer collect old books like that as trash and they're pretty hard to burn.

  my solution has been to include one in every bag of used cat litter when i clean the cat boxes.

  i've gotten rid of around 30 that way and i'm about halfway there.

  Put them all in boxes, printed out the bible scripture from Solemans book about the making of many books and left them in front of the door at the kingdom hall

  did the complexity of life arise spontaneously, or did it require a creator?christians believe that a creator is essential.

  scientists believe that the idea of a "creator" is pure mythology, and that the complexity arose through natural processes like evolution.

  you can actually answer this question yourself with a little logic.

  With Christians, there is no logical conclusion because their explanation is that the intelligent creator NEVER had a beginning.

  So how could an intelligent creator never have a beginning? If that creator is so complicated and everything had to be created then where did the complicated, intelgent, highly designed creator come from and if he always was but nothing just comes to be without a creator then where is the logic in this reasoning

  Answer:

  There is no logic in the christian reasoning

  Shunned by the window washer

  over the many years my wife and i were captives of the watchtower organization we hired witnesses from time to time to heip us maintain our home.

  one of those witnesses was a window washer who was quite good and reasonably priced so we have continued to use his services even after we faded 4 years ago.. so this year, my wife called to set up an appointment for him to come over and do our windows and he tells her he's not interested.

  now this may be because he's so busy and overworked that he just can't fit us in or it could be that after four years of not being at meetings he has chosen to shun us.

  Im Going To Be Disfellowshipped!

  in 6 months, my life has completely changed!.

  i have chosen to be gay, i no longer suffer with guilty suicidal feelings, i have the most amazing boyfriend, and my parents and friends accept me for who i am.. i was informed today that a judicial comitee will be formed to disfellowship me.

  i dont feel any kind of bitterness or sadness despite the fact that this is all i have known for 20 years and im about to lose some very close friends.. on the contrary, i feel fabulous!!!

  district convention vs. surgery...not kidding

  wife has been to two already....hers and another with a gf for a gf weekend dc thingy....her cuz has a part on the dc about two hours away and she wants to see him and fam......so taaaadaaaaa my elder/dad is taking me to the hospital.....the good ol...we can talk to you if it is a family emergency option overide ......good god (not) this is so insane....i feel like i am the twilight zone...........oompa.

  i mean morals...natural inborn morals....that you love and protect your family and you show them love and not just say it......

  A woman who works at the bank I go to is a ex JW (DF'd in 04). She was baptized at the age of 9 and that was 18 years ago.

  She told me the primary reason she did it was because she wanted her Mom and Dad who are uber-witnesses to love her and have pride in her.

  It's really a sad story because now she has a beautiful 4 year old daughter and though her daughter sees her grandparents, this young woman has no relationship whatsoever with her Mom and Dad.
