Will the evolutionists save us from the coming catastrophe?
by abiather inthe earth's magnetic field is in a weakening stage right now.
data collected this summer by a european space agency (esa) satellite suggests the field is weakening 10 times faster than scientists originally thought.
if the magnetic field weakens enough, then the earth could be hit with dangerous amounts of solar radiation and cosmic rays .....

Of much greater concern to me are anthropogenic risks to the future of our species. And you're still a blithering fool for conflating magnetism with evolution. -

"The evolutionists have been unable to answer the question of FROM WHERE THIS POWER HAS BEEN FLOWING FOR BILLIONS OF YEARS if their evolution theory is to be accepted."
Whaaa? This is gibberish. The earth's magnetic field has to do with relatively straightforward physics. Convection in the earth's molten metallic core creates electrical currents which in turn are responsible for the earth's magnetic field. If you took high school science you would know this and Michael Faraday discovered the principle behind it almost two hundred years ago. The polarity reversal of this field is nothing new and happens every few hundred millennia and can be easily verified in the rocks of the sea floor, where cooling magma solidifies and magnetic particles in the rock align themselves in whatever way the poles are currently facing.
What the hell does this have to do with evolution?

The best book on biblical archaeology I've ever read
by marmot ini'm referring to "the bible unearthed : archaeology's new vision of ancient isreal and the origin of its sacred texts" by israel finkelstein and neil asher silberman.
i think it should be required reading for anyone who deigns to defend the historicity and literal interpretation of the bible.
(i'm looking at you singlecell).

Thanks Terry, as the topic states, it's the best book *I've* ever read (so far). Always open to further information.
As for The Bible Unearthed, putting aside the controversy it does show for certain that some biblical passages are flat-out wrong. For example, the bit about camels not being domesticated at the time of Abraham yet he supposedly owned herds of them was an eye-opener. The lack of any physical or archaeological evidence for the Exodus was another.

Why Do Atheists Struggle So Much Against God Who Supposedly Doesn't Exist?
by Perry inan athist made this casual statememt on another thread:.
this would suggest to me that there are at least some atheists that do have consistant beliefs.. .
as an atheist, how could he possibly trust the reason that suggests this to himself?

Well put Metatron.
There was a great bit on The Daily Show last week about some stick-up-his-butt atheist who threatened legal action against a little mom and pop diner that was giving 15% discounts to people who prayed or otherwise observed a moment of silent thanks before a meal. The douchebag even compared it to genocide. The interviewer, Jordan Klepper, told the guy "Look, I'm an atheist. Shouldn't we be picking our battles here?"
I'm against Dawkinsian militant atheism.
