I would think YOU have the final say. What about the father? I hope he would back you up as well.

I still recall the day I got rid of my card. I went to a Healing Room and I was being prayed on (hands on praying) to release me of any bondages the JW's had hanging over me, when I suddenly remembered I had my card in my wallet still (had an issue date which was from the JW's standards considered expired) Anyway, I told the lady who was praying on me, "I can just see it now, I destroy it and the next thing I know, I'll need it for an emergency." She told me, "No, you won't need it. Just pray to God to give you strength and keep you safe." So I did and that was a few years ago and I am soooooooooooooooooooooo glad to have that card trashed. After reading that story about Robert Sitek (se my other posting), I now see how indespensible donating is and btw, when I was 11 years old (1967), I was no JW at the time, but was in a major sledding accident, ruptured my spleen and not having the medical records to verify anything, my local current MD told me, more than likely I lost a considerable amt. of blood and definitely had blood transfusions. Hey...I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the donators. Bless their hearts.
