I always avoided the ones who thought they were sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than everyone else. Now I avoid them all. I can play their game of shunning just as easily.

by minimus ini knew of some elders that were very intimidated by a certain elder's wife.
she regularly wrote letters to the society and circuit overseer telling them about the foibles of certain elders.
she was the type that when she raised her hand for a comment that you better call on her or you'd be approached by her right after the meeting.

years ago, even if people were bothered by the door knocking, it was still said that people admired their zeal and conviction.
not one jw that i know truly gets excited by the "truth".

They are all speechless. They don't have much to preach anymore, because the only things left to preach are the REAL truths, something they don't know anything about and their former teachings have become obsolete. Hallelujah!

It's official (family-wise) I am an apostate
by RisingEagle ini was having lunch last week with my mom and she dropped the a-word on me.
my mom started off the lunch speaking about what a disappointment i was to her that my wife and i had put our little girl into a christian private school.
i posted on an earlier thread that my wife and i now have a 6 year old beautiful little girl that we're adopting.

WOW....good story. I am so proud of you. You put your daughter ahead of everything else. Good for you (and her). You may have given your mom something to think about. At least she's still talking to you. I'm proud of her for doing that as well.
Keep up the good work, after all, what does it say in the Bible, something about providing for our own family? You're doing it and doing it well.

by Sparkplug inhave you ever noticed that around here more is said when people are silent than when they are talking sometimes.
not anything in particular, i just noticed that when people get silent, there usually is a reason.
hard times, drama, can't comment...etc.

I think it will last as long as any other church will. In other words, they think the governments will shut all churches down and ONLY theirs will remain standing. *Idon'tthinkso* If the governments never intervene *hope* I think the only way the WTBTS will fall apart is when all their members see the REAL light and get out.

by AK - Jeff ini have the budded starts of maybe 4 of them in my hard drive.
i have been encouraged to finish them, but don't know if i ever will.
some of my writing was cathartic in purpose, and that cathartic crutch seems less needed these days.

I had a second HD, which I used as a backup. Well, when my main HD crashed, my daughters boyfriend inadvertently took out the bad HD and the PC got sent back to DELL with the good HD and all my photos, files etc. etc. And since DELL receives ca. 500 PC on pallets everyday, they were not about to go and isolate mine just to get the HD out for me. Bummer huh?

HARDDRIVE? Burn it on to a CD. I lost things I typed up because of my HD crashing on me. I had a REALLY cool testimony typed up about my life as a JW and had all these facts to prove them wrong and now it's all gone *sniff* Maybe one day I'll find the time and try it all again.
