I think that some things in the book might be false, but more likely than not, there's enough truth in there to be damaging to the Bush administration. Benjamin Franklin once said that "the sting in any rebuke is the truth". We'll find out in the comming weeks how much the information in the book "stings" the Bush administration.

McLellan book & the GOP reaction...chance to wake up JWs?
by sir82 indon't want this thread to turn political, but.... have you noticed that just about every administration response to scott mclellan's new book attacks the messenger?
"he's disgruntled"..."it's not like him"..."we're disappointed he chose to do this"....etc.
not one word (that i have seen or heard) disputing the actual contents of the book.. sound familiar?

What did you think in -95?

Seeker4, that is an old trick of the WTBS. Remeber John 1:1? "The word was a god?" Remember the hours of explaining they put into why the NWT translated that scripture that way? Here's a good explaination of why that may be wrong. In 1989 when the Watchtower argued the validity of their original stance regarding "this generation", they argued why it referred to those living in 1914. In 1995, they completely reversed and contradicted their first explaination that was offered up in 1989.

My wife is like a camel or something. She can hold it for days! I'd rather not.

Hell, it was during the Clinton administration....
President Clinton: "It depends what the meaning of the word "Is" is".
Watchtower Bible & Tract Society: "It depends what the meaning of the word "generation" is".
Dorktacular: "It depends what the meaning of the word "Bullshit" is".

I just speak the truth. As far as aiming better to avoid peeing on the seat..... There's still a little matter of physics.... Because the distance being traveled by the "liquid" being deposited in the toilet bowl, there is still the matter of splashing! The higher up the individual is, the more outward splashing there is bound to be. So ladies, don't levitate in mid-air while peeing to avoid splashing pee everywhere. Again, I say to the men, use the damned urinal and don't pee on the toilet seats.

Do you have an annual disfellowshipping party? I would! I didn't get DFed as far as I know. I just moved out of town and stopped going! I don't care if the DF me or not. Besides attending a recent funeral, I haven't been to a meeting in 10 years.

If only the commute in metro Atlanta was short enough to allow bicycle commutes! Unfortunately, I can't see myself making the 35 mile commute one way every day on a bicycle. I've got the next best thing, though. My 1995 Toyota Corolla gets 38 miles to the gallon. It still costs me $40.00 to fill up. That sucks.

Wow, I was going to the assemblies at Veteran's Stadium in the 1980s. I don't remember that one! We alternated between Yankee Stadium, The Meadowlands, and Veteran's Stadium. Maybe I was at another location that time?
