The Nethinim remarks were used as the middle 90's Band-Aid fix for the expired anointed appointments due to the 1935 closed door policy that was cancelled last year. Now the Watch Tower owners can all claim to be first choice anointed and the "appointed channel" claim is safe from the passage of time.
We won't hear very much more of the Nethinim group because the idea isn't needed now. Now the "generation" is set, the anointed channel is set, the new corporations are in place, the new buildings are planned, the "millions who would never die" are pretty much dead, and the future looks bright ahead.
Out with the old, in with the new! Remember when they told us there would be a new "system"? I think we're seeing it:-)

Do you hum?
by Layla33 ini do and sometimes i do it when i am happy, when i have had a good meal, when a friend is on the phone and they went to do something - it's my musical interlude.
i think some people hum without noticing it.
i also used to hum to my brother, it was our way of communiting when we were young and a game we played where we would hum a tune and then each of us would try to give a verse.

Stay or leave your spouse after leaving JWs - Do you have regrets?
by Awakened at Gilead ini am in a situation that many of you have faced... whether to stay with my spouse or not after having learned the falsehood of the org.. my wife is diehard witness who gets upset whenever i talk about the org negatively.
she is not happy that i am on jwd... in fact the other day she picked up the keyboard and wanted to throw it accros the room or bash me with it when she saw i was on jwd... she is also very upset about me making friends with "apostates" and worldly people, and told me never to bring them to our home!
this concerns me, since i am not going to have any friends in the org, and i need at least a few friendships...she doesn't want me to talk to the friends in the cong about my decision so that i don't share my doubts.

Interesting post leeabeth, Thanks! Do ya know anything about the Society's property deals or any money stories? Don't I see a kind of kingdom cash shell game being played with some of the Society owned property transfers?

I have heard of that and seen them. They're a joke! Like Bubba and Bartholomew on a Chinese scavenger hunt on a merry go round. I was in a congregation that had a Batman and Robin team who watched too many Lone Ranger and Tonto matinees.
They were Lance Roberts and Merlin Marvin and they decided to catch me doing something they didn't like so they decided to stake out my car. Of course I worked nights and left out the back door and walked to work. I knew they were doing it but I decided I liked it because they were watching my car almost 24/7 and my car was virtually guaranteed not to be vandalized or stolen. What a pair of bozos!
Jehovah's Witnesses are wannabes on every level. They'd screw up a two car funeral. They make Abbott and Costello look serious. The only exercise they get is jumping to conclusions.
Secret police my ass, the only thing they keep secret is that they have a brain. -

Yes! A test is given and if the man fails he qualified as an elder. -

I was born in. My family didn't become active with meetings and service until I was 7, then it was gung ho, bar the door Katie.
My socialization and the path to my eventual exit at age 30 was the public school system and the secular employment environment. My biggest deterrent to staying a Witness was the Witness people. The steady stream of disconfirmations for me were readily supplied by the Watchtower magazine and other Society mass produced literature.
The best thing I have seen the Witnesses do in my life was the implementation of the elder arrangement, whereby the unqualified quickly rose to their own level of incompetence. The program has had a challenging effect on the non-Witness communities, in that by promoting the defectives and keeping them busy, the Witnesses have deprived more than a few municipalities of their village idiots.
