"Queenie" has passed away
by Brymichmom ini got an email from her daughter lisa this morning regarding "queenie", who used to post on this forum as well as others, such as my yahoo groups.
many of you long timers on this forum probably remember queenie.
she had multiple health problems and took a turn for the worse last month after a fall and died yesterday.

That's a shame. I corresponded with her for years and visited with her on the phone many times. She was very intelligent and very up beat in spite of all the health problems she had. I'm sorry to hear of her passing.

In all of life, and especially in times of devaluing of the currency like we are experiencing now, short term plans can be useful, but what's needed is a long term solution to a long term problem.
Like my story about the guy who chopped firewood in the 70's. He used up a LOT of time and energy on a short term solution to a long term problem. Being busy should not be confused with doing something.
My mother often told us a penny saved is a penny earned. That's a fallacy. A penny saved is one cent in the bank. In my 20's one of my mentors told me that if I did what rich people do, I will be rich. I might not be rich, but my family has prospered following that insight.
When I see Buffett chopping wood and buying a bumble bee scooter then I'll think about it. The reason I don't hear Buffett complaining about the price of gas and bread is he has enough money to buy both. I see that as a long term solution. I've been broke and I've had money . . . having money is better. -

Stalking when you have left them..
by Blueblades ini just received an e-mail from a close friend who told me that two brothers from my old congregation are trying to locate me since i moved out of state and away from the congregation.. he tells me that they are phone and computer savvy.
one person knows how to use the phone system and can find any persons phone number private or otherwise.
the other is computer savvy and can use it to locate anyone from his computer.. is this a form of stalking?

The Witness stalked me when I was a Witness. I didn't complain for quite a while since the dumb bastards were watching my car when I slept. At first I was pissed but I quickly realized they were a sort of free car security service.
The idiots showed up one at a time, so I made a game of giving them the slip. I'd sneak out the back door and walk to work so they'd sit and watch my car all night. Merlin Marvin and Lance Roberts from Vermillion and Yankton South Dakota. Two of Jehovah's finest . . . Hahahahaha

Very nice family. I bet you're proud. I'm absolutely in love with my grandson. He turns 5 next month. He comes over every weekday while his parents work and I love having him around.

I just make more money and pay the asked prices. I watched a relative in the mid 70's when energy prices spiked similar to what they are doing now and he worked every Saturday and spare minute he had cutting, stacking, and splitting firewood to save on his heating bills in the winter.
I just worked one Saturday a month with dedication and direction and made enough in that one day to pay my whole heating bill for the whole month.
When gas prices went up in the 70's, my neighbor bought a brand new car on monthly payments that got better mileage. I bought a used but nice 454 Buick Limited with 100k miles on it for cash. Guess who had the cheapest car to operate.
I'm pretty darn loyal to my own rule to live on less than I earn and I don't do debt on depreciating assets. Make $100, spend $50. Never do anything stupid on purpose, there's enough stupid by accident. If I'm in a bad situation, job one is to get out of bad situation. I don't want to know how to adjust and manage the bad situation. I want out . . . now! -

The only thing I've had any luck showing a believing Witness is the door.
The best thing a Witness can change is their zip code.
