And the Watch Tower Witnesses are still trying to keep these balls in the air. It's easy to see why they shun anybody with a brain. Their whole theology thesis is just ridiculous. The only thing different between then and now is now it's bigger ridiculous.
Thanks for the link! -

I was raised by two Watch Tower Witness religious fanatics and it was a tough road. In adolescence and young adulthood, I hated the Witness meetings and I felt guilty if I missed. It was a pretty bad spot to be in.
Eventually the Watch Tower Witness people pissed me off so bad I didn't want to go back for more disrespect. Many Witnesses I knew were disgusting people. They assumed they could offend me over and over and I'd come back for more. Wrong!
I might do unpaid volunteer work, but never if I'm mistreated or disrespected in any way. In my world, mistreatment and disrespect were weekly Witness activities. The Witnesses built a new meeting hall in the 50's and it had a glass front room in the back with built in speakers and a solid core door. It was called the crying room. Could that be a tip-off that there might be something wrong here? -

"Even if it isn't true" - how many of you heard this one recently?
by hamsterbait ini remember first hearing it after the generation change of 95.. a sister answered up at the wt and said "even if armageddon isn't coming, its still the best way to live.".
i have heard others say: "even if it isn't true, it's still the best way of life.".
my mother said it a few weeks ago!

My dad told me "Even if it's isn't true, I couldn't of had a better life, I wouldn't change a thing".
It was one of those things I had to reflect on. The more I reflected, the more offended I became. All the sacrifices that I made, and there were a lot, were all for nothing. I lost sleep all through school because of four night meetings on four different nights, I didn't turn in homework week after week because we were out every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night every week, and I sat out everything good in school from birthday cake to Christmas candy.
I had the embarrassment of not standing for the pledge every single day, and sitting in the dunce corner when the class prepared their Christmas program and it was all on my parent's orders because we had the "truth". Not one damn thing they told me turned out to be true and when I asked about it they said it was a "lifestyle choice" and if they'd known I didn't like it they'd have put me in a foster home. That just chaps my ass!
A parent's job is to prepare the child for life. My parents took a trip to la-la land and never came back. They lived in a fantasy world of ghosts, gods, and goblins in the dark, and tried to teach me that they were "right" and all the rest of the world was wrong. As an 8 year old kid, I didn't have the resources, the means, or even the will to question it all. I accepted what my parents told me as true and tried to survive.
When it all failed and not one thing was left, they dumped me in the garbage like last night's leftover fish. My dad shunned me the last 12 years of his life because HE was wrong and couldn't defend his life of wrongs. The bottom line for me is: I could have had a better life and it's offensive to me to be told my sacrifices were my dad's membership dues in a social club. -

Bethelite: Elder burnout, R&F disillusionment led to book study change
by pseattle2 inplease visit the blog: http://governingbodyletters.blogspot.com/2008/05/bethelites-viewpoint-on-recent.html.
a bethelite's viewpoint on the recent organization changesto me the most obvious reason has nothing to do with control, or money.
it has everything to do with the serious shortage of qualified brothers who can (or who are willing to) be used.

The Google Earth, Wallkill NY pictures have been updated and detailed. Take a look at what billions of dollars buys. Then look at Patterson NY, built since the donation agreement in 1990. This is real $green building.

What is the "world" we must not love?
by Awakened at Gilead injohn2:15-17)15 do not be loving either the world or the things in the world.
if anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him; 16 because everything in the worldthe desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of ones means of lifedoes not originate with the father, but originates with the world.
17 furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of god remains forever.. how do you understand this scripture after leaving jws?.

And I was wondering what world God loved so much in John 3-16 --- "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish . . ."
So . . . Is the "world" God loved so much the same "world" that we are not supposed to love?

If the FDS was appointed in 33 C.E., then why did Jesus inspect in 1918?
by Olin Moyles Ghost infirst, some background: when i first began to have doubts about whether the jw religion was "the truth," i performed quite a bit of research on the faithful and discreet slave doctrine...in the society's literature, of course.
like many of us, i had never really examined the doctrine.
well, needless to say (but i'll say it anyway), i found major flaws in the society's interpretation of the parable of the faithful and discreet slave.

Peter Gregerson once said on a television program in Vancouver, B.C. that being raised a Jehovah's Witness was like being raised in an insane asylum with retarded parents. (Jim Penton May 14, 1996)
I think it's hilarious that grown men and women put on suits, ties, dresses, and pantyhose, drive across town and go sit in somebody's basement, watch the family dog lick his balls for an hour, and seriously discuss the seven trumpets of Revelation and the Society's ridiculous claim that Rutherford's convention rants were prophesied in the Bible. That's just over the top in my book.
God owns a United States book printing business, Jesus liked Rutherford's cross and crown, and now if this one pony rodeo isn't bad enough, we're getting letters cancelling meetings from the Governing Body! These guys could screw up a one car funeral. -

Between these cry together articles and the bookstudy Bible burden Governing Body letter, it seems to me like the Society is taking a patronizing tone with the Witness people. We've long known the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation dislikes Jehovah's Witnesses and the Society is trying less and less to not show it.
No wonder any Witness with two functioning brain cells is quitting (or going on strike). :-)
Those dummies, this isn't gonna work! The genie's outta the bottle. -
