Just my 2 cents(.00000000000063)cents US. I think that the amount of time it takes to detoxify from something as traumatic as exiting a cult, is equal to the length and severity of the indoctrination one has gone through. I know for myself, I was raised by witness fanatics. I was grounded to my room any saturday that I didnt go out in service. After three day assemblies, I wasnt allowed to go out with the other witness kids, instead I was told by my dad that I had to go and "ponder" on the things I learned for the last three days. I could go on and on, but indeed the indoctrination in my case and Im sure many others here was extreme to say the least. I must also add that everyone here has to at some time say that sufficient healing has taken place, and "Must" move on from here. If not we have exchanged our religious addiction for another sort of addiction, which in essance is no healing at all. Best of luck to everyone.

Christianity vs Islam
by Stan Conroy in.
doesn't the conflict in the middle east between christians and muslims really boil down to a bunch of children arguing over who has the biggest imaginery friend?

Ya Stan, I have to agree with you on this one. Blood, death, suffering, and hatred. All in the name of their Gods.

What Are Some Of The STUPIDEST Comments Made?

Hey Stan, Do you remember that dolt, Tom Jarbeau? He gave that forty minute prayer once, and thanked God for the white picket fences, and the wine, food, and groceries?????!!!? He also prayed for our furnaces so they wouldnt malfunction, so our brains wouldnt freeze?????!!! How about smokin jim frazier, he had that fascination with sex. He could change any topic while giving his talks into something sex related. I remember him once trying to tie in the plagues that were poured out on Egypt to the evils of oral sex. Yup a three ringed circus it was that old Central hall. Geddy

Hi Trocul, Ya hearing things like that come out of peoples mouths is so scary, its acutally funny. The real sad part is that the MS was my dad. He s the same one that thought I had started taking drugs and was hallucinating, when I showed him an illustration in one of the crothtowers with a demonic picture subliminally placed there that was so obivious. I love him, but its true when they say that "there are none so blind, then those who refuse to see" As for Rush, they finished their tour last month with a couple of dates in Brazil. I did catch them quite a few times this time around, NYC, Houton, San Antonio, and Toronto. They put on arguably the best show of their careers this tour. Did you get a chance to go?

Background of those leaving
by freedom96 inwho are the majority that are leaving?.
are they those who grew up as witnesses, and this generation realized that this is not the true religion and leave?.
or maybe a witness who had a position of power, such as an elder or ms, or maybe had some insight from bethel, and saw too much?.

Are elders more spiritual
by JH in.
are elders more spiritual or just better qualified to teach?
does the watchtower choose their leaders for their spirituality or their leadership?

Well Stan, if your theory is correct. Than the holy spirt got a hold of some refractive mirrors, and maybe some fibre optic cables in order to shine that light on me. I say this because the night my appointment was announced to the congregation, I was at a hockey playoff game, there was no way on earth I was missing that game, we won too, so maybe the holy spirit really did direct things afterall. Circa 1993- Actual conversation that took place between a Ministerial servant and myself... Me- "Im telling you that I am certain the watchtower is going to change their doctrine about the 1914 generation thing". Ministerial servant -" They will never change this understanding, the brothers are not wrong, this is Gods understanding of this date not ours............ fast forward to Circa 1995- Said to same Ministerial servant-" You see I told you they would change this, they had to, they painted themselves into a corner.....Ministerial servant-" OOOOhhhh please they didnt change anything. THIS WAS ONLY A CYRSTALIZATION OF TRUTH" as he looks at me like Ive completely lost my mind! There has to be some humour in this, I just cant find it yet. Geddy

Its a fact that if you sit on the crapper long enough, you can dream up just about anything. The boys in the writing dept. must have saddle ass by now, after coming up with that jibberish in that Isaiah book. I remember once after a bad mexican meal, thinking I came up with a sure fire cure for cancer..... nope ..just the jalepenos talking.
