there are so many.... i remember my exfather inlaw...ben regan, he was made an elder in newport r.i and that's enough to make you doubt the whole holy spirit thing right there.. i was sitting in his living room one sunday and the phone rings...some poor black sister just got the crap beat out of her and she was crying to him on the phone, she was looking for help.. ben said.
"well you must have done something really bad to make him so mad at you...i know but...what you need to do is just have another beer and forget the whole thing"....good by.. thank god must women are not putting up with this anymore, from their husbands or religions that really don't care about them.
.
That is so sad New Boy. i personally don't know of any spousal abuse in my hall... but then again i don't know what goes on behind closed doors.

im sure all of us at one time or another witnessed homes that broke our heartshere are a few of mine.
some of the homes i had been invited into out in service really left an impression on me.
call it naive or whatever, it was a real eye opener in some cases.. one in particular that i remember was a poor family with 8 little girls, stair step in age, the oldest no more than 9. this was an rv of the sister i was with.... very nice people, but the living conditions were appalling.
YES YES YESSSS!
I attend a foreign language congregation more specifically all of our members are either originally or descendants from a 3rd world country. With that being said we only preach to people who speak our language or our native mother language....most but not all of the people we talk to at the door have immigration issues and family issues that live overseas. These two were the worst combination because these people would work hard to pay the landlord and stuff but at the end they would not have any money to clean up after themselves because these people feel just because i live in the ghetto it does not mean i have to keep my living quarters clean
When we find people like this they are more apt to accept a bible study, with that being said sometimes when the study goes well the brothers and sisters will find somebody to help them out with their immigration issues, help them apply for food stamps, help them find better work and finally hand them a mop and a broom After we give them a helping hand bribe we expect them to attend the meetings with us. but only to find out we've been taken advantage of just so they can gain US green-card or residences which is not easy to get.I just think some times the dubs like to be taken advantage of just so they can convert somebody/keep a bible study. but they fail to see that they are being use so someone else can get ahead in life with saying the magical word Thank You 2 us.*Puke*
I think the better question to ask if you went to a jehovah's witnesses house and see their house as Fxxxing filthy... and i've seen my fair share. the worst one was going to attending the JW BET ASSEMBLY AWARDS but my mother did not have enough money to pay for the hotel so a brother recommended that we stay in his sister and law's house (also a JW) since my mom agreed to the brother (XOCO's sister did not agree) so we stayed with the SIL. when the SIL law open the door for us it looked like the dirty streets from our third world country and their was some man in the home who was not a dub and kept making jesters at us (scared the bejeasus out of us). It even gets worse...the brother who suggested to stay w/his SIL got to say in a room that had its own bathroom nice sparking tile and fresh new sheets bed etc, etc. what we got was just pure S**t, i mean the entire room was covered with dust no sheets on the bed and the floor was covered dust and sand. I refused to lay on the bed!!!it was just so fucking nasty ass! what was wost was her bathroom i mean it had rust rings all over the tub, tile and shower curtain, also the bathroom sink and toilet was covered in some (i don't know what the fuck it was) so i'm gonna call it black death b/c that what it looked liked... The wost part of it all was that our host did not clean the room or the bathroom us MY OWN MOTHER had to clean up after her. This was soooo f***ked up on sooo many levels that i just can not fathom.
I could not reason how the cleanliness scripture went passed her airhead. but then again it must be some of the traditions that people keep when leaving a 3rd world country IMO.

did anyone resist getting baptized?
starting at the age of 12 my parents were pressuring me to get dunked, it started when i came home from school one day and there was a young dub waiting to study with me, he tried for a few months till it became obvious he was more interested in my sister than getting me in that pool.
another attempt was made when i was in the 8th grade, i was walking home from school and a pick up truck pulled over right in front of me and there was another young jehovie, he told me to get in the car, i told him no, and he said that if i didnt get in i would be in big trouble with my parents, reluctantly i got in, he proceeded to take me around town to a few of my friends(worldly) homes and started telling me that these people were all going to die, and that if i wanted to die with them.
there's gonna be a major GUILT TALK on the Service Meeting during the week of April 7-12. It's entitled "Why Put Off Baptism?" (Kinda weirdly worded title if you ask me. Sounds like it would be a list of good reasons to put it off.) Anyway, it's supposed to based on a Watchtower article from mid-2006 and is to include a couple of interviews with JWs who got baptized young and are glad they did.
Uh Oh! Now the hounding is going to get on XOCO pretty soon *gasps in fear* i better think of some tricks to pull out of my arse. i bet u ten dollars that they are going to talk about how bloodguilty you are if you don't get dunked...as if i am responsible if i did not convert on person into the troof lol.

we decided to go to the memorial on saturday, here in palm beach county where we live.
it was at 9:00 est.. when we arrived the kh was almost full.
people were congregating like it was a party and taking pics.
Then, it was a little after 10:00 pm and we could not find any resturant or fast food place open except for KFC. Unbelievable!!
Pretty soon the society will ban dubs eating chicken after the memorial LOL!

XOCO...I wonder what it was like in Miami? Do ya think Crocket and Tubbs showed up?
I wished they showed up (that would of been great to see) and take away all of those foolish ppl conducting the anti-partaking cermony LOL! but at least their were actual law enforcement to direct the flow of traffic...caused by the dubs.

People were congregating like it was a party and taking pics.Don't you realize that this is the LAST memorial ever before Big A??!!! Just think, everyone can look back at their pre-armageddon scrapbooks and say things like, "Hey remember Sister Shows-Too-Much-Leg and Brother Smells-of-Smoke...too bad they didn't make it...oh well we have this fine Kodak moment."
BWWWHAHAHAH! *laughing ghettoish* That was hysterical Bonezz!!!

People were congregating like it was a party and taking pics. I do not remember that type of atmosphere happening years ago. When we were young it was a very solemn, respectful occasion to the point where it was very quiet in the KH. Obviously that has changed.
It is typical at the JW BET Memorial Awards LOL!. all the men dressed up in pimp suites and the sisters in prom dresses (its typical in the black congos)...HA HA HA. But I also participated in it (i got my picture taken like i was a movie star) i guess it is a South Florida thing eventhough i don't live in the southern half of florida *Hint, Hint* but a little bit to the north of it
When it came time to pass around the bread or matza, I and my husband had to make sure we did not laugh out loud. You would not believe how horrible the bread looked. It seemed as if they had taken the bread out of storage. It was gray, broken up in pieces and even had crumbs on the plate. It was embarassing.
ROMFF (Rolling on the mother fu***ng Floor)the dubs have gotten' so ghetto.LOL!
Then, when another brother was praying before passing the wine, he kept referring in his prayer that the wine represented Christ's body. I kept cringing everytime he said that in prayer. My husband said because the brother was elderly he made those mistakes. Regardless of that, I feel on such a solemn occasion when you have new visitors, you should not make such a mistake when praying
I truly feel so sorry 4 you Missy... but i've experienced the samething in my hall too.

i know as exjws, probably for the most, there was a secret freedom in watching horror films without thinking you would have a demon as a bed buddy.. i am not very fond of every horror movie, but i will watch those that have an intelligent side to it and is not gore for the sake of gore.
like "the ring" got me going when i first watched it, just like "the blair witch project" did, which is more about suspense.
anyway, i never saw any of the saw movies, so i am going to try to watch saw iii tonight, since it is on showtime.
The scariest movie i've seen is 1960's original version of Rosemary's Baby I can't believe i found that movie in my local library
