The Black/African American Perspective on the Watchtower Organization
by XOCO ini was wondering if anybody has some input/suggestions on their feelings of blacks/a.a (no offences to ppl who are white and born in s.african or anything of that nature.
ok in xocos case i'm h***an/american (born in the us) and i grew up in a predominantly h****an kh so mostly black and few european ppl/decent that spoke the francophone lang (*hint,hint*) i've never knew what it was like to be in a predominantly caucasian kh (4 that 1 year i was living in the bible belt of fl,us).
it was different and ppl were mesmerized by the way i acted compared to other a.a. jw around their near by khs.

Oh in black congregations we danced more...and when I say dance I mean booty shaking
4 some reason in my KH we could dance as if we were "booty shaking" but we could not do (wining competitions) its a type of carrebbean dance move b/c it was provocative and the girls had 2 bump and grind w/da boys lol.

At the risk of beating this subject to death, I have to agree that the WTS showed a callous disregard for the plight of Blacks.
Just think how many brilliant Black kids turned down scholarships because of its teachings against college education.
The same thing would have happened to my daughter if I had allowed it. I told her to get an education and pioneer later.
I'm so glad she listened.
i agree w/u snowbird b/c i see it as child abuse i mean i cried over it that day when the elders consuled me about college. i mean if i listen to them i could not by food or put gas in the car because of the problems that we are living in. i'm soooo happy that my mom does not act like one of the elders lol! b/c she has always suffered for me and my siblings

Black, poor and now uneducated we had the ultimate three strikes against us..
in my case i have the ultimate 4 things against me
1) I'm H****AN/American
2) I'm a woman of color
3) I'm dirt poor
4) i'm made fun of b/c my parents came from a third world country.
ppl can be so cruel in this "system of things"
but at least im pursuing higher edu ^_^

Has the wts ever changed doctrine, policy because of the media or internet?
by Fisherman injws have died rather than to comprise.
the intenet though has made public different perspectives on wts beliefs and policies that the average jw would not have even thought posible to consinder that such viewpoint existed.
no doubt, jw officials and other sheeplike ones have been exposed to that information and so has the public in general.

Shawn10583: The doctrine that if one puts spiritual things first in life all other things will be added to you is also very appealing to poor people because it suggests economic stability.
that's very true and its even harder b/c if u get ppl who are from 3rd world countries as in my case these kinds of ppl work in menial low paying jobs like retail, factory work, selling stuff at the flea market etc. but if ur parent are from a 3rd world country and they raised u in the "troof "they really really want u to pursue a higher edu b/c they don't want their American kids 2 suffer the same fate as them.( but what hinders them is that the elders will tell them no and state what Shawn10583 said) i mean my parents did not move to the USA for me to work in a crap job, if they did they would of not left the country they came from and i would not be posting here on JWD. in my hall 2 elders are white and 2 are h****an/black. one white elder is college edu and so is the black one. one white elder got a technical degree and the black elder has some kind of accounting degree (but now attending college to get some pharmacy tech degree) so why yet they still hang on to the belief that put jah 1st crap but all the elders are struggling financially except 4 1 elder and he is black BTW.
