would you still be a JW?
by BR25 infrom coming on here from time to time i notice there is many disfellowshipped ones and alot of those who didnt like their freedoms taken away from them.
ignoring what you have researched and know now how many of you, honestly if there was no disfellowshipping and say you were allowed to have more freedoms such as playing sports, how many of you would still be witnesses?
once again ignore ever coming on here for insight and so forth.

As a young adult i would say that if their was no disfellowship policies, no celebration of pagan holidays, no pursuit of higher education and no "worldly association" etc, etc had been put in place then yes i would/still be a witness and i would not question anything because JW would not be different than any other religion (not being left out). IMHO but it is not the case though...it's run by men that put so many rigid rules and other non sense and false reasoning.

What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?
by minimus inwhen i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

Oh this brings back a memory of mine. When I was in middle school i had 7 period classes and each of those teachers would give me a ton of homework and projects to do. i had a hard time keeping up with my grades. so a nice sister of mind suggested that i talked to the teacher in advance before homework was due or about to be due, well needless to say that plan failed because the teachers did not (except for 1) want me to get ahead of the rest of the class with grading homework and all the other junk with the Florida school system .
So a kid at the KH told me to bring my homework to the hall and do it in the back or in the bathroom. I thought wow how come i never thought of this beforeBTW the kid was doing the same thing to. So i did what the kid says and what comes next a counseled from 2 elders, telling me I'm not allowed to do HW @ the hall and thats its disrespectful to Jah.

Poem from dub friend.
by searchingforfriends ini got this in an e-mail from a childhood friend that is still an active jw.
i found it to be very upsetting and was wondering if anyone else gets the kind of e-mail forwards from friends/family that are still in?
and how you handle it.

for some reason i got this funny feeling that i was thinking about this leaving the borg and dating a :worldly" person...I remember a long time ago some brother gave a talk like this which was very similar to this poem... and these kinds of talks were aimed at the teenagers and 20 year old crowd
the only thing i don't get is this:
I've got a good man and he has a good job.
The only thing is, he doesn't serve Jehovah God.
Everything is going fine, but recently at night.
When it's time for the meeting, we just fuss and fight.
He says, "Who's this God, breaking us apart?
Don't go tonight dear, please follow your heart."first of all wouldn't he know that prior to marrying the girl that she is/was one of JWs and do all of the JW rituals that they do...I'm assuming that they weren't dating beyond 6 months LOL
You and the baby tested positive to the new HIV test.
As most "worldly" people do today is take an HIV/STD test before they have sex.. how come she did not do the same Because all JWs who are in the "truth" would never ever ask their partner to take an HIV/STD test because we are all supposed to be "virgins"i.e clean from venereal diseases... what about JW people who are divorced... the JW divorced person u are going to marry is like having sex with their previous sex history (sex history with all of their ex husbands/wives). how come they don't check if they have something lingering in them... i mean if they really care about their mate both parties should get checked.
Also this kind of stuff can happen to anyone! even JWs couples but in the poem they will never admit that.

Stories Of Wife Abuse In The Organization!
by new boy inthere are so many.... i remember my exfather inlaw...ben regan, he was made an elder in newport r.i and that's enough to make you doubt the whole holy spirit thing right there.. i was sitting in his living room one sunday and the phone rings...some poor black sister just got the crap beat out of her and she was crying to him on the phone, she was looking for help.. ben said.
"well you must have done something really bad to make him so mad at you...i know but...what you need to do is just have another beer and forget the whole thing"....good by.. thank god must women are not putting up with this anymore, from their husbands or religions that really don't care about them.
