  An absurd theatre.

  yesterday i went home to see my best friend from my childhood.

  we were always together, and when we got older he was the best man at my wedding, and i was his.

  You have lost much in the process:-( But now you know with certainty that those who have chosen to stick with you are true and genuine.
  
  And this is what "real" christian love is all about.
  
  And you know what??? You will find new true and genuine friends right here on this forum.

  When You Were a JWD Newbie - Were You Shown a Warm Welcome ?

  one thing we all have in common - everybody who started posting on jwd , were all " new " posters in the beginning on this board.

  so take yourself back in time for a minute - how were you received here ?

  did people welcome you warmly ?

  actually, a troll named "winter" decided to appear at the same time i made my first official appearance on this forum. so it did not go too well...
  
  but a few posters were kind enough to send pm's telling me they believed i was not a troll. for goodness sake, i did not even know what a troll was!!!
  
  so yes, some gave me a warm welcome...some not!

  The JWD stigma about being "nice"

  i'm back from a little jwd break and i'm happy to see that things are not as volatile as when i left.

  however, some things never change.

  and one thing that seems to be a constant around here is the mentality of some very intelligent and knowledgeble ones (in their own minds at least) that if you are "nice" you are some how emotionally needy and/or not too bright.. i don't think the "happy people" on the board have anything against people with high iq's.

  he was rather startled that i knew about it but actually conceded that another brother asked him the same question ( i would like to know who ..lol).. anyway ... for those of us still attending some meetings ... this is great !!!.

  this happened to me years ago when i was still living in nashville tn.

  i was driving home from work one day and i was in the turn lane getting ready to take a left.

  i had a green arrow and i proceeded into the intersection.

  for those who give a flip.... i have been away from jwd for several months now.

  it was a great help to me in the early days of my fade.

  it was comforting to know that i was not alone and that others had been in my shoes.

  the pope humbly apologized to the victims of sexual abuse and showed his concern and pain that they went thru.. are we ever going to see anytime soon "the humble gb" showing the same concern for the young jw's that have been .

  abused ?

  Tribute to Mrs. Flipper - Happy Birthday to my Sweet Wife !

  well my wife turned another year younger yesterday - had my son and his girlfriend visiting so i couldn't post too much as we were busy celebrating !

  i can truly say that having been in a couple bad relationships years before i met mrs. flipper that being with her the last 2 years plus ( married year and a half now ) has been the happiest years of my life.

  the positive energy and great hilarious humor she brings to my life is one of the magic formula's that help , i believe , a couple get through the stress of living in day to day life with the pressures we all face.
