Thank god for cheese
by greendawn inone amazing thing is that out of just three kinds of milk the milk of cow, ewe and goat hundreds if not over a thousand different kinds of cheese are made around the world.
yellow or white, hard or soft, mouldy or not mouldy, strong tasting or bland.
cheddar, gruyere, gouda, maasdamer, parmesan, feta, roquefort, stilton, brie and scores more.

Oh yes! thank God for cheese! I LOVE cheese! Almost difficult to name only a few favourites.
Love good old regular sharp cheddar...feta crumbled in a salad or on a pizza...camembert and brie with a glass of wine...parmesan over any pasta. And the list could go on and on... -

Do you like yourslef?
by R.Crusoe ini find this question another i hate to think of!!.
i view myself through others which is a reality of zilch so it is bad karma for me to consider it!.
maybe its circumstantial of many life events but i'll bet exjws feel the power of the above dynamic as a negative force for humanitarian ectics and personal self worth!

When all is said and done, it comes down to "me, myself, and I"
Friends may come and go...friends may love or stab in the back...in reality, I am all I have.
So yes, I like myself. -

"A New Earth"...think any JW's are reading this?
by TweetieBird ini was watching oprah yesterday and she was talking about how some people are afraid to read this because they think it will interfere with their religious beliefs.

YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

Thank You, CoCo...
Yes indeed, sad stories are everyday fare:-( Just read on the board this morning...a member's mother attempted suicide:-(
On the other hand, as sad as those stories are, they often serve as wake-up calls for us. And make us appreciate all those small blessings that we so easily take for granted.
Well, it is a beautiful bright sunshiny morning in my part of the world. On the cool side, but still beautiful. I just had a good workout at the gym. It is now time for breakfast.
Wishing you all a great day:-) -

I am currently reading the book and also taking the monday night web class.
I mentioned this book to 2 very dedicated JWs and no, those particular 2 would not touch the book!
Among other things, Eckhart Tolle gives his interpretation of a few Bible verses, including "new earth and new heaven"
Well, only that is more than enough for a JW in good standing to throw that book to the fire!
But I love it and I SO enjoy the weekly classes...quite a few "ah ah" moments, believe me:-) -

Dear Journal...
As I sat at the computer after dinner to check my email, I received sad news from my daughter. Her good friend Sophie had been under the weather lately. But going through a divorce, it was assumed that it was stress more than anything else. She finally decided to consult and was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer:-( She must now go through more tests to see if it has started to spread.
A beautiful and vibrant young woman. Mother of 3 young children. It is just so sad:-( -

Have we become like those we despise?
by boyzone inak jeff and i have just had a small disagreement on the charlton heston thread.
nothing important or serious, but it just struck me that in our exchanges he and brentr have used a couple of lines of false argumentation to get their point across.. i can't help but think its strange that with all our moaning about the watchtower and its false argumentation methods, are we prepared to use exactly the same methods when our views are challenged?.
i find this a bit disconcerting, especially on here of all places.

Welcome to JWD:-)
Some here have been through a lot and you seem to be one of them. Sometimes, one reaches a limit and it comes out in anger at whoever or whatever is in the way.
Take it easy, make yourself comfortable. You will find much knowledge and much comfort in this place.
Wishing the best to you and your mother~ -
