Did anyone see Jackson state "celebrating Christmas not a df'ing offence"?
by Crazyguy ini have seen posts on several you tube sites stating that jackson said during his rc testimony that jw's don't shun, celebrating christmas is not a disfellowshipping offence, birthdays are ok and ones doesn't have to agree with jw doctrine.
i have read most of the posts on other threads while and after his testimony but never read any of this?
did he really say these things or is someone on the net just stirring up some bs?.

Somewhat true, he was really wishwashy.
Download his entire testimony and then keyword search for Christmas, Birthday, etc.
Jackson's is the last day's testimony.
Below is a notable exchange:
Q: So, for example, if they had become inactive or sought to fade without formally disassociating, and the elders came to visit and found them celebrating Christmas or a birthday, they would be found to be in transgression of the rules, would they not?
Jackson: That is not my understanding. But again, as I said, it is not my field, that goes into policy with regard to those type of things, but from my personal experience, that's not the case.
...
Jackson: Yes, but if I could mention, Mr Stewart, your first proposition you put forward, that they meet someone who is celebrating Christmas ‐ you know, this person is not associating with other Jehovah's Witnesses, not actively trying to change other people, and so on ‐ a person such as that is not going to be handled judicially, as far as I understand. So, sorry, I have to disagree with you, but I hope you can see

John, Datadog etc, yes the like/dislike system is glitching.
Twenty upvotes for everyone on this page.
Aquila, I was not "upset" with your experience; I enjoy reading your posts. I just take all experiences with a grain of salt, especially since being duped for decades in this org and not being able to exercise my right to question anything I read ;-)

John, you have to many good stories or experiences, are you making this stuff up. I surely hope not
Read through his posting history. It's always a variation of "last night I bumped into..."The amount of people he accidentally bumps into that proffer personal and very incriminating beliefs is astounding. He must have a very trustworthy face and live in a village with a population of 50.

NeveraJW, I'm glad someone else sees this. Many here lap up everything that reaffirms their view of JW's without engaging the critical thinking skills that allowed them to escape from this cult.
Sure, it's entertaining reading his experiences but if you believe it all, I've got some disheartening news for you.

Instructions from the Old Elder's Book
by John Aquila inlast night i was looking over the notes on my old elders book and one of the instructors told us to write this down.
"when you want to get the friends to believe and obey anything, just keep saying it over and over and over and eventually they will believe it and follow whatever they are being told.
when i went back to school, i learned this quote in one of my world history classes..

I don't remember being instructed to write that in my elders book either cantleave
I suspect many of Aquila's experiences are embellishments or fabrications. -

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015): Serving Single - Do not use JW dating sites!
by Designer Stubble inaround the 39:00 minute mark the focus shifts to a single sister who cannot find a mate.
at the 42:30 minute mark she states "i cannot believe it crossed my mind...to look on jw dating sites".
guess a new unwritten rule is added to the many oral traditions of these pharisees.

Funny how GB member Jacskson recently got married to that younger sister. Of all people, shouldn't he have remained single and focus only on the Lord? He's going to be raptured soon anyways, right?
Hypocrites.

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

Blues Brother, anyone claiming to be anointed prior to 1992 (in their example) would be part of the second group. It would include many born even after 1960 if they had "the calling" in their twenties.
They've extended their timeline by decades now.
Quite the loose use of the word "generation"

So 1992 is Fred W Franz' death.... What exactly is the significance of that?
They're using him as an example. "Assuming" he was the last one living that was anointed before 1914, his contemporaries of the generation would have to be someone anointed prior to his death in 1992. -
