The gangs I was referring to are the Bloods and Crips. There was a gang fight in 6th grade and a Mexican friend slit a white guy's throat.
But I do know that the Mormons used to have, may still have, Black Angels or Avenging Angels who took care of dirty work in the 1800's.Mountain Meadows Massacre anyone?

we suggest that you consider the following two questions, which are asked of
candidates for baptism:
(1) Have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognizing yourself before Jehovah God as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his SonJesus Christ?
(2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit?
If you find that you can answer “YES” to these questions, then it would be appropriate for you to speak to the presiding overseer in the congregation of Jehovah’s witnesses with which you associate, with a view to getting baptized.
Now you are baptized into the Organization.
*** w85 6/1 30 Subjecting Ourselves to Jehovah by Dedication ***
The first question is:
On the basis of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, have you repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do his will?
The second is:
Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in association with God’s spirit-directed organization?
Having answered yes to these questions, candidates are in a right heart condition to undergo Christian baptism.

Raised in the Salt Lake Valley. It is Inversion Time there, pretty depressing time of the year. A thick gloomy pea soup "fog" of pollution settles on the valley. Then lake effect snow rolls in. Then the snow is there so long without melting it gradually becomes a black mess that covers everything. And the Mormons are nearly as hard to please as the witlesses. Add to that the gangs that showed up when I was in Junior High, it has become a sad place to be. (My family all belonged to the Bloods)
Just my opinion of course.

please bear with me on this as this is a genuine attempt by me at greater understanding.. recently, a young woman i know has come out and stated that she is gay.
this is the second time i have been shocked - yes shocked!
- because neither woman fit what i used to consider was the "typical" gay woman profile (i am not using the word lesbian in case it causes offence).
My sister is gay, just came out to me last month. Actually, I told her I already knew. She was shocked I could tell. Even though her and her GF have been married, it really came as no surprise to my family. My sister is a no makeup, cargo shorts, Birkenstock wearer kinda gal. Always has been. She brought her friend to a BBQ, before she came out, and everyone could tell just by looking. My hubby and I are actually confused as to who is the more femme one. But it doesn't matter because my sis is happy. After nursing her hubby until his death from cancer, I think she's earned some happiness. And she's my sister, I can't think too much about it, ewwww! I'm afraid I'll find out too much because they are coming to a Passion Party at my house.
She has said almost exactly what ann has said. Besides not being a witless, and having a GF with a child, she's my same strange sis and I love her.

joseph was imprisoned because of false accusations made by potiphar's wife.
he had at least two cell mates, a cupbearer and a bakerwe do not know the charges against either prisoner.. joseph's cell mates had dreams.
by god's power, he interpreted the dreams, including which day the dream prophecies would be fulfilled.
The Bible mentions the deaths of faithful ones many times. Could it be that these faithful ones' death is what is being focused on, with the birthday as a side point? Or even a historical reference?
I had also read somewhere that birthdays were celebrated but usually only by the wealthy. This may explain why Jesus' family didn't celebrate his or his siblings.
