Couple of questions:
1. Is this a variation of the Nigerian scam?
2. If not, what kind of scam is it and who's being scammed?
3. Is it OK if I just look Jewish? Or will I have to answer a lot of questions about circumcision and kvetching? I can study if I have to.
there's a box on page 10:.

what will be the "end afterward"?.
At the last DC I attended (last year) in the anti-college talk the speaker actually gave as a reason not to attend college that 'Every year many students die from binge drinking.'
'Go to college and you could die of binge drinking' is probably the most ridiculous argument I've heard yet.
Real quick point... I have college friends and non-college friends. Guess which group drinks more?
regarding alternative service.
ray franz received letters from branch committee members that displayed thoughtfulness and breadth of viewpoint that were in sharp contrast to the rigidity and narrowness of several members of the governing body:.
what was the effect of all this?
The utter contempt toward non-US members was dramatically evidenced in the Book Study letter. One reason given for the change was "gas prices."
The brothers in Eurpoe paying $10 per gallon for years prior, or those in Africa jumping over crocodiles to get to the meetings were not cause to reconsider the schedule... but driving the Escalade ten minutes to the hall costs an extra few bucks a month so we'll cancel the "most important" meeting. Way to give the rest the world the finger, Governing Body!

scroll down to the 2001 documents - i ask about the letter to various branches listed first under that year.
i never noticed before, but wouldn't this letter normally be signed?
I don't know anything about CompuServe or the signature, but the explanation given and language used seems perfectly in character with the WT's likely response.
Not that it means anything, but WT apologists have taken this explanation and defended it heartily, indicating their belief that it is genuine and demonstrating that the explanation works for the thoroughly indoctrinated, which is really all that is necessary for the WT's purposes.
the sermon on the mile high mount.
1then it came to pass in the land of entitlement that the word became change and the change became hope and the hope became change you can believe in.
2and the obamessisah went about all fifty-seven states, teaching at their caucuses and primaries, healing malaise among the poor in spirit, and preaching the gospel of progress.
That is kinda mean-spirited. Guess that's why it's funny.
Tee hee hee, 57 states!
and after they are bored with picking fruit..... do you think they will make us into something they like better?.
when i first saw this elaborate chapel of skull and bones, my reaction was that this had been intended as a mockery.
surely these friars know the statutes and levitical laws that death and handling of the dead is considered "unclean".
I think it's beautiful. I'd be honored to be part of such a display... hopefully many decades from now.
i just thought some might like to know the latest about actor and racing driver paul newman -.
lime rock park racetrack was closed down for about an hour and a half today so that he could take a few last laps in his gt1 corvette.. newman has incurable cancer and is not expected to live much past september.. there were not many like him..
Cancer? Huh... a lot of good all that organic food did him.
He'll be missed.
this stuff just makes me laugh.
where are they getting this stuff from???
isaiah spoke to the lord, and the lord brought the shadow ten degrees backward!
Noted creationist (and presumably, gay porn star) Harry Rimmer related this tale in a 1936 book. Interestingly, on the WT Library CD there are six citations or quotations of his work supporting the WT's position (between 1952-1965). The last time he is mentioned (1970) is in connection with this bogus "missing day" story, and they haven't referenced him since.
i used to play the guitar quite a bit but haven't practiced seriously for quite a few years (and left my guitar in the uk when we moved over here).. yesterday i decided i should get myself a guitar again so i popped into a music store and had a strum on a few.. the ovation guitars seemed really nice and not too expensive.
does anyone have one or have any experience of them?
i would love the electic one they do that can also sound acoustic but can't really justify spending so much so would probably get a regular wood / round-backed one.. thanks.
HD, you just gave me an idea... a big and tall music store.
"Concave guitars for the convex gentleman."
