  is the wtbts publications free in your respective countries or is there still a posted charge for it?.

  i know us, canada, france and the land down under are free.....not exactly free they cost you your life but you know what i mean.

  The WTS, Downsizing and Contributions.

  as most of you may have gathered, the past couple of years have seen some major downsizing in wts expenditure, not just overseas but in the us and canada, including the sale of some buildings.

  building projects have been shelved, some half-way completed.

  every congregation around the world was instructed to upgrade kindgom halls, probably for the purposes of asset protection, as the trustees of khs are only trustees *for* the wts.

  Propaganda and the WTS

  propaganda and blatant liar can often be seen sharing a beer together in the local pub.

  the observer can differentiate them quite easily as at the end of the evening propaganda stabs blatant liar in the back and steals his underwear.

  the common element that bonds these two characters in this uneasy friendship is an agenda that recognizes that matters cannot be presented to a person or group without needing to adjust or manipulate the facts to serve their own ambitions.

  Do you miss the Kingdom Melodies?

  just curious.

  i went to the 3rd church that i've ever stepped foot into after leaving the borg 3 years ago.

  so, as i'm standing there (in the front row, i might add) for the musical worship portion of the service.. i felt like a big idiot.

  The worst thing you can do at an apostofest is to start singing Kingdom Songs. The tune will stay in the head of the others for quite a while. :-)

  Special Tract Campaign?

  After more than a decade without special tract campaigns they launched the Kingdom News 34 "Why Is Life So Full of Problems? Is a trouble-free paradise possible?" in 1995. There was a lot of enthusiasm due to the being new after so long a time that produced new peaks.
  
  In 1997 they tried to repeat this effect by Kingdom News 35 "Will All People Ever Love One Another?". I felt that the effect was already going away. Remember that 1995 was the year that did away with the Generation of 1914.
  
  The last campaign was in 2000 with Kingdom News 36 "The New Millennium-What Does the Future Hold for You?". Of course, they wanted to use the excitement among people in general because of the beginning of the 21st century.
  
  I have no idea what they will come up with now but I am sure they will do it again. It has an effect in reactivating publishers and giving new ones a starting point because you do not have anything to do but handing them out.
  
  I do not think there is a feeling of urgency any more. And I think the tracts are so boring and contentless that I should be surprised if they have any effect on getting new interested ones in.
  
  They used to announce that some numbers of coupons (3 digits) were sent in to the German branch asking for a HBS. But I heard thru the grapevine that there were many jokes made sending JW to neighbors etc. The real interest if any was rather low.

  anyone heard it?

  its called n.e.w.s (north east ...etc) 4 instrumental tracks, each 14 minutes long.

  kinda similar to his old madhouse stuff, but with a slightly less jazz feel.

  i have a fettish for tattoos...along with piercings.

  (they all think the piercings i want and have will lead me to getting dfed..too bad, i'm not committed yet!

  ) i have mentioned it to a few of my associates in the congregation and they freak.
