What Terry Said!
I mentioned in a post last week that the WTBTS is attracting people who become attached to the earthly org because of an emotional belief, not one based on gnosis and veritas.
I think if those of you that left pre 2000 came back now it would be like coming back to your little home town thats been taken over by walmart.

Would YOU Remain A JW If You Thought The Watchtower Could Be Reformed?
by minimus inpersonally, i don't think the organization is reformable.
while i was an elder, i tried to be a more moderate voice and as i grew older any harsher attitudes disappaited from within me.
as they say, all the good (and smart) elders have left.

Bottom Line: What's Going To Happen To The Jehovah's Witness Religion?
by minimus inis it going to become mainstream?.
will it become more cultish?.
will it splinter off and re-create itself?.

Hey minimus, the preaching work wont stop, it will move to "the direct approach"
You think, in my life time ,we went from the truth book, then the live forever, then knowledge, then what does the bible teach, its getting quicker and less intense.
The org is now after people who care more about the emotion of being a witness and not the knowledge.
Magazine production has slowed right down, books have gone cheap, more things going to digital.
They are reshaping before our eyes, the org that was in 1925 is gone, the one in 1967 is gone , the one from 1996 has gone, it changes ALL the time.
We have changed our name, our deity structure, our organization structure, our titles, our dates everything!!!
It should be called the "search for truth", not THE truth.
Everyone prays for the end of what they see as a cult but fail to realise that the JW model they were associated with is long gone.
They can build a hall in two days and change their shape in 1.
Maybe they are keeping up with the celestial chariot after all!! -

its not going anywhere!
The christian congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses will become the new "face" of the org.
The way it will be explained is, just like the various presidents, Jehovahs chooses the people and organisation that he needs to accomplish his will.
We will change our name and say the preaching and printing work has been accomplished.
The WTBTS will have fulfilled its purpose, which was to publish and be replaced by the CCOJW.
All new york offices will be off sold, Walkill will expand, printing will back off and it will become a little mainstream.
Titles will change, blood will become a conscience matter( just like organ transplants) Disfellowshipping will change, JC will be modified to be 3 men discuss how a person feels about what they have done but only one elder hears the actual confession.
One thing to note and Im not sure its been mentioned, but the new pioneers book has an entire chapter on principles, the pioneers book is the ultimate whisper campaign start point.
Eventualy all thungs wil be principle based and more focus on Jesus and not the org.
I think it will change for the good. -

Oh my Confucious et al, please dont take my little dig to much to heart!!
Im not being personal with this its just the american government and establishment has had a good run, they have managed get control of most of the international trade and even government in some cases, but american imperialism is grinding to a halt, you may still enjoy a prosperous life because your a hard working nation, but, like the UK, the day of american cultural, economic and governmental dominance is pretty much over and the "correction" to your financial sector is a clear proof of this. -

I hate the Watchtower but I really still hate the Trinity Jesus is NOT God!
by Witness 007 insome bibles use the term "worship" when refering to jesus...at times people did fall down and bow to him........this doesn't show he was god!
the greek term; proskeyneo, means to prostrate oneself, to bow down and show honour.
now, this was done for jehovah.....and his representatives....jesus israelite kings and priests....but for the honour of jehovah not as creature worship which even angels would refuse.. also i studied the non-biblical early church gospels which really does show a slow decline over 150 years, into the trinity as the watchtower claims...........although i still hate the watchtower society at least i learnt something that wasn't a lie..

real one, your wrong again, poor use of scripture. You obviously dont understand what you post.
007, I was born in Aus, spent 90% of my life there!!!! I know your wife keeps busting you on here, just wondering if its because shes going cold at night whilst you warm the key boards!!
And no you dont offend me with this thread, not at all, what ever works for you, personally, I think Im slowly becoming a gnostic, check it out, certainly explains the whole "why does god permit suffering" thing alot better.
You also work out where enoch is, you understand the transfiguration, the third heaven, the creation account, Michael the arch angel, the hierarchy of deity and way more. -

real one. you are assuming that the scriptures weren't twisted in the first place.
Wrong assumption, no proof either way. -

here we go again, arguing over things that are purely faith based.
We have no idea what the facts are and until we do, why bother.
007, its like 2 in the morning down there, go and find you wife. -

this study was good in some areas in that it stressed the importance of spirituality.
However, what freaked me out was the scriptural reference from Isiah that was supposed to be a prophecy,, the paragraph qutoed "This is what the LORD says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, [a] and those tall Sabeans— they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you, coming over to you in chains.
Some how this turned into a prophecy, seems like any little weird scripture has two meanings, but what they left out was the rest....." They will bow down before you and plead with you, saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.' "
They will BOW DOWN ......no other god......
WTF, this is crazy, do they actually think they should be bowed down to and that they are a god?
The fact that this was ignored in the WT ( even though I had my hand up 15 times to bring this out) is crazy.
Seriously, someone needs to write a QFR on this, do they feel that this scripture applies to them in its entirety, if so, how should they be bowed down to and what sort of god are they, if it only partly applies, who is the other half refering to? -
