After 17 years, I went to a KH....really shocked!!
by Prometheus inafter severe pressure from my family, i have decided to attend to the nearest kh.
and a little history regarding my self: i became inactive and lost completely contact of the wt changes and "new light" 17 years ago.. everything seemed so odd and strange during the meeting.
latest technology, animated movies, watchtower web tv, a website that you can download everything, including km and wt study articles.

Should doctors tell JW patients that there is disagreement about Watchtower's blood policy.
by Lee Elder inthis has been a controversial issue among doctors and medical ethicists.
i think it basically comes down to the fact that physicians have a responsibility to establish the presence of informed consent.
is it really possible for a person to give informed consent if they are not accurately informed?.

I think many witness parents are secretly relieved in some Australian states doctors will be very proactive and get a court order for minor children. As a nurse especially working in maternity its extremely stressful for the nursing staff when witness mothers just don't comprehend of just how much danger they have sometimes put themselves and their babies in. While I agree that persons should have a right to refuse medical treatment and often do for many reasons. I don't think a publishing company is suitable people to be dispensing life/death medical advice. Especially with all their flip/flops. If?? the WT organisations is as clean and loving as they so self righteously always trumpet. Why don't they donate blood? It takes large quantities of blood to make fractions that they TAKE from wicked worldly people to keep themselves alive!! -

The story of my exit
by mrsObfuscate ini have been lurking here for about 6 months, and being the last day of the year, and ready to start the new one afresh, i want to share the story of our exit from the org.
i have found the personal experiences of others of immeasurable value, (and its been a while since a good exit story has been posted) that i hope this can be of benefit to at least someone.. .
my mother became a jehovahs witness when i was about 9 or 10. i remember initially hating all of the new sanctions put on our lives (no birthdays and christmas anymore) but for some reason i soon after joined her in attending the meetings and eventually got baptized at the age of 14. my staunch catholic father converted a couple of years later.

39 minutes agoMrs Obfuscate, thanks for your great post so relatable and I hope all goes well at Uni. I enrolled in Uni post cult (very mature aged student)and the biggest advantage for me is learning to think critically for the first time. And knowledge is power. Welcome to the real world!

Watchtower crackdown on anointed expansion - are they reaching for a solution to the expanding numbers problem?
by slimboyfat inif this has been discussed i missed it.
i think the january study watchtower is a concerted attempt to reduce the numbers claiming to be anointed.
but i love the sneaky way they go about it this time.

DATA DOG I met some much younger anointed acquaintances of my parents. I found them to be genuinely full on and zealous but on the whole frustrated by elders and others who didn't care about the religion/flock as much as they generally did. My dad was actually disfellowshipped temporarily by visiting CO because he assumed that his constant references back to Russel and the older publications where apostasy. Much scrambling by other elders (relatives) to be him reinstated. My poor father saw it as spiritual test bought about by satan! -

- My father and step mother both anointed since 1960/1970. Memorial night they would ring other anointed friends. Even as an adult I was never privy to those conversations. Too deep for a mere member of great crowd.

Mephis/talesin ditto totally agree............makes you wonder for all the individuals obviously suffering some sort of religious mania or undiagnosed/untreated mental illness who profess to be anointed.
How many of the secret 7 are just stone cold sober opportunists?

Untrusted
by Esmeralda001 ingreetings,it seems that jw immediately assume that all "wordly" people (as they like to call it) are immoral and unworthy of their trust.
i sort of understand how it can be dangerous for a christian to have association with someone who doesn't share their values, but don't you think that some members take the conceal lied in corinthians 15:33 to the extreme?
what about romans 2:14?

No he was not punished he disassociated himself. Because I reported the abuse when my daughter was of legal age it is all up to her. For many valid reasons my daughter (the victim) is not able to pursue legal action at this time in her life.
JW.ORG is a cruel and controlling CULT. It will not allow you to criticize or discuss its shamefully inadequate child protection policies or procedures. Shown up so well in Royal Commission.
I was even accused to "worshipping my daughter ahead to Jehovah" because I put her needs ahead of continuing to protect a peodohile under 2 witness policy.
It is absolutely their way or the highway!!

I trusted in the ORG
I trusted the "2 witness rule"
I trusted my own anointed parent who "stated that the angels will keep the cong clean"
for 12 years
When my teenage baptised (used on platform at assemblies) daughter remembered the abuse the spiritual guides I "trusted" said "only Demonized people remember abuse".
I reported to police/australian royal commision resulting in such vicious shunning we had to sell our home and move.
Just before we left we had visit from presiding overseer let us know that they were no longer willing to protect offender had left his wife and moved in with much younger woman and we where now free in their eyes to take action against him . (with not financial or support from them) how nice of them!
Now the bible gives me hives and I don't trust men/religion,authority, angels........ect,ect, ect
