Went to work (for free) and watered our latest grounds project (desert willows, Texas sage, Knockouts, red yuccas, etc.)
Put scales on a 7" bushknife
Drank some PBR
Cleaned the garage
Grilled burgers
Watching "Idiocracy"

Welcome! If mouthy says Hi I guess I will too.
i would really like to talk to some ex-jws that have converted to buddhism, specifically sgi but any branch would be great.
i converted in 1990 but was raised jw from birth.
my father was an elder my mother a regular pioneer.
I am most aligned with Buddhism, but not a practicing Buddhist.
Ditto, to a certain degree.
"remember all the movies, terry, we'd go see .
trying to learn how to walk like heroes we thought we had to be .
and after all this time to find we're just like all the rest .
My heart bleeds for you Mr. Falcon. May fate bring you and your friend back to one another. I'll raise a cold drink to you and your friend today. Cheers...Brother.
my minimus-like question:.
suppose a jw knocks at your door and you tell him/her, "i heard that jw's do their door-to-door and study work to 'count their time.
' i cannot stand the idea of someone calling on me just to mark down some credit with their religion.
They would tell you to go f*** yourself, and then count the time every month for the next year.
In other words, they would be your typical JW pieces of shit.
i didn't go to college and of course, "higher education" was never recommended.
still, i never felt terribly deprived because of not going further in my education.. yet, i did wish that i could've had "normal" aka "worldly friends".
i wish that as witnesses, we could've been better integrated with other people.

a super-zealous elder once told me in a very grave tone, "you know, mr. falcon, when someone becomes an apostate and leaves god's organization, they usually do very well physically and materially.
" hence the reason he claims that they feel "vindicated".
now i do also remember hearing such statements in the past from other witnesses.
Yep, I'm so poor I don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.
Good Lord...my country bumpkin is showing bad tonight.
