i don't know about the rest of you more seasoned posters here, but i believe jwd is really becoming a welcoming haven for people leaving the jehovah's witnesses , and we are really seeing some great quality posters among newbies coming on the board.
so, i just want to say to all of you who have joined the last few months , we love your input , you have great takes , and keep your thoughts coming !

Sorry about that faux pas. I'll try not to use them dadgum Texas slang words anymore. I know how you high fallutin' big city yankee types have such a hard time readin' the language of the earthy peoples, so I'll try to keep it simple gol'durnit.
Thanks for all the nice words for us newbies

i was raised a jw since childhood up to the age of 16. at that age i decided that i didn't want to go to to the meetings.
that decision was taken in lew of reading a lot about different philosophies.
i didn't consider one philosophy to be right, but everyone of them had something that inspired me to be a better person.
That's great. I started college for the first time 2 years ago at the age of 35, and couldn't be happier with the decision. It's much easier than High School was because I feel more challenged. Well, good luck, study hard, and have fun.

Yeah newbies rock, but I'll be glad when I'm not one.
my vote for the worst watchtower term is:.
circumcision of the heart!.
i can't believe that there are people who can not only say "circumcision of the heart" with a straight face in front of the congregation, but defend its 'meaning'.. other runners up in my opinion:.
"meat at the proper time"
Makes me think of Ron Jeremy's smiling visage before plowing time
....anything at all??
?
Shasta Lemon Lime and Cheese Danishes.
Oh Shit, I forgot those Asses quit giving, er selling, us those dainties at the Boasting sessions.
What a bunch of dicks.
my boyfriend was a jw for most of his life, he is no longer participating in the religion.
we are not married and i'm now pregnant.
does any one know and can advise me what i can expect from his parents once they find out?
And if you respond positively, even a little, then the Love-Bombs will start dropping.
Fake Bastards.
it happened again like in july when i talked to an elder and his wife about child abuse, but this time i got a hold of rank and file members who fortunately i was able to play like a fiddle as they had no idea what they were up against here.
so brother middle age ex-hippie convert ( as he told me later ) and sister middle age hair in a bun offered me the awake on death or our view of death.
i graciously accepted gaining their trust saying yes, i had close loved ones who had died over the years but didn't know if i believed in a resurrection or hereafter.
That was awesome! Way to go flipper! It may just be a brick out of the wall, but it matters if you help someone out of that hell.
Keep chopping away.
