  Well Freakin finally this Drama has reached it's Climax

  hahaha i just recieved a certified letter , an invitation to a little party known as a jc at the local geneseo ,il kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses to discuss the matter more fully that i refused to discuss with an elder on the phone about .

  come to our party june 23 held in your honor ...yea right !!.

  so our certified letters will be received on the same day sweet !

  while participating on this website (one of the only three places i've discussed religion online) i asked a question:.

  i've observed quite a few posts and comments here about religious intolerance toward gay men and women (i'm quoting), the terror and murder of homosexuals instigated by christians.

  the religion i was raised in was in agreement with the bible based view that alternative lifestyles are immoral but they never instigated any hateful rhetoric toward gay men or women.

  ..."long hair" on men is also "unnatural" - and that's much more specific than anything else Paul had to say about homosexuality.

  Before pretense to know what the Bible is "really" saying, you need to do a little scholarly examination of the words used.

  Where Am I?

  about a year ago, i made the same choice many on this board made, to leave the witnesses.

  at first, when i would go back to the hall i would tell my believing(just barely) wife why things being said were so false and i was so damn adament about what i was learning from the "apostate sites.

  " in the past year my meeting attendance has slowly faded to about 1 meeting a month.

  we had several "talent" shows over the years in my original congregation - it was the only annual gathering more nauseating that the meetings.. my friend and i would always bring our walkmans and blare heavy metal in the back - hoping to block out the embarassing crap on the stage.you always had a few older ones get up on stage and slaughter a kingdumb song.

  Witness movie "Heritage"

  does anyone remember seeing the witness movie called "heritage" ?

  it was made in the early 60's and they used to show it once a year at the kh when i was a kid.

  (with guilty minds, we were secretly glad to see the projector set up in the middle section of the hall because it meant we didn't have to sit through another long boring talk.. even as a little kid i could see the one sided propaganda basicaly showing how empty "worldly" peoples lives were compared to ours and if you were a witness your family life would be idyllic like on "leave it to beaver".

  what's really gross about brother franz death is the fact that jws are probably celebrating it.. in all of my correspondence with him he was more loving and christlike then any elder i've ever dealt with.. god bless you ray.

  No one I know who is "in" knows his name, knows the history, knows his books (well, a couple have heard of CofC but only that it is Satanic).

  The WTS has, in part, done a great job in covering up the late 70's scandal; their policy on not naming authors or openly acknowledging dissent serves them well.
