enough that they feel they have to right o be considered an universal authority.. their claim to fame comes from, mainly, their stance on blood, the trinity, immortality of the soul and hellfire.

maybe this is actually what the bible teaches... but to me, it is a moot stance in regards to the position they claim to have a right to.. the witnesses have been heralding the coming of christ for well over a century.

Today is my 2yr Anniversary of being OUT of JWs - honoring it with a letter! (long)

today is my 2yr anniversary since being df'd - and my life has changed a lot!!!

this is a letter i wrote to my parents...i did see/talk to them in feb when i had my surgery, but of course as it goes, now that i'm 'better' - they are back to shunning me.

so this was sent to them both, so that they understood that despite all the jw bull ish, and how they are treating me now - i'm ok and happy!

Anyone have a Kindle or a Nook?

i really don't like the ipad (or apple) but i think an ebook reader would be nice.

nothing made by sony though .... the amazon kindle and barnes & noble nook look to be the best (esp.

with the recent price reductions) but i'd like any insight from anyone who has one.

I have had the Nook since January and absolutely love it! I did a lot research and decided that I preferred the Nook over the Kindle.

Some of my favorite features are the ability to "loan" books you own. Not all books can be loaned out, but quite a few can. The ability to test read whole books while in a Barnes & Noble. Free wifi access in the store as well.

The Kindle is a good product, I just preferred the touchscreen vs the Kindle keyboard and a few other features. You will get a good product no matter which one you pick!

All in all I have been very happy! Getting ready to buy my wife one here shortly as well!

Need help picking an engagement ring

ladies please weigh in.... i am seriously thinking about buying an engagment this summer.

first, we are both early 30's make about the same roughly (50k) a year.. i am thinking getting a decent quality diamond .90 carat on a platinum ring... seems to be about $3800-4500k price wise.. please be honest..... i saw the ring her x gave her.. it was yellow gold with a white gold top where some side stones were and a .66 to center stone was set that was a "gift".

granted she picked it out.. 1. my ring must be way better than the one her x gave her.. 2. i won't propose without a ring so taking her to pick on out is not an option.

I bought my wife's engagement ring on bluenile.com. Great experience if you haven't checked them out yet! You can easily pick your diamond and setting. Prices were also great. We were so happy that we bought both of our wedding bands as well.

San Diego Pastor & Wife Told They Can't Have Bible Study Group In Their Home!

about 15 people meet for a bible study in the home of the pastor.

the county has informed him that he cannot have a religious assembly in his home without first applying for a very expernsive permit.. hmmm.

maybe the society took home book studies away for legal reasons.. personally, i think the government has no right to tell people they can't meet up for bible study..
