  i tried explaining that other languages have grammatical cases and the difference between calling god theos and theon was like the difference between referring to god as he(the subjective case) and him(the objective case.

  Have you ever read anything written by a neopagan where they give call a minor Deity in their Pantheon a God? I never said that it was wrong to translate it as "a god" but my assertion that theos and theon were the same word nearly made his clean-shaven little head explode.

  Opusdei this guy was just a tool. He kept on wanting me to agree with him that Theos and Theon were as different from each other as God and "a god". I am a serious believer in coequal hypostases though. My baptismal name is Wolde-Selassie (Born of the Trinity). I couldn't agree with him and of course I relish in being labelled by my wife as an opposer. Bad guys are the sexiest.

It is no more a different word than putting an apostrophe on Jesuswhen talking about Jesus' name. Does the apostrophe make it a different word? It was all in his effort to convince me that the New World Translation is superior. "No, the difference between Theos and theon is the difference between God being referred to as He and Him and that's the only difference. The Strong's concordance proves it." He and my wife went on to claim it was a vast apostate conspiracy when they could no longer rebut my proofs. Momma didn't raise no fool.

  I can only imagine a kid knowing that it is bullshit, having no intention whatsoever of getting baptised, but being forced to go out in service trying to make the best of it and viewing it as training in how to be a successful high pressure salesman and con some suckers. I really want to make my kids read Catcher in the Rye.

  sometime ago i wrote here in this forum about the case of my sister, who decided to stop attending the meetings because she realised that the watchtower society is an evil organization.

  this happened more than one year ago.

  i am not living in the same country of my sister, so i learn about her case when she calls me or when she write me through whatsapp.

  The word for harrassment in Spanish is acoso. And I don't know which latin country she is in, but if she is in a country that went through an anticlerical stage, there may be much more severe laws on the books to convict the elders for their acoso religioso than there would be in The U.S. or any commonwealth country. Disturbing the peace in the enforcement of your religion's Canon Law in any of the countries scarred by the Spanish Inquisition is a recipe for being persecuted by the secular authorities. Jehovah's Witnesses love to provoke persecution so they can join the ranks of the annointed.

  really different ones such as islam, judaism, hinduism, etc.. has anyone here looked into something else?

  All the tradition of Catholicism without the top down papacy

  If you are going to choose Islam, choose Ismaili as it lacks the legalism and inferiority complex of sharia islam.

  If you are going to choose a Dharmic religion choose Sikh, because turbans, swordfighting and soup kitchens are awesome.
