Why do we get stumbled out of JW's because of imperfect people?

i see this a lot on this forum, loads of people saying they left jw's because of "hypocritical ....... ( put elder, pioneer, couple, sister, brother, governing body) here.. but?.

why would you expect any man-run organisation if you believe the bible, to have to be perfect and not be full of imperfect people that will come across as hypocritical?.

the bible examples from israelites onwards name anyone :- moses, king david, pharasees, paul the one thing the bible doesn't do is white-wash them it shows that however much we follow the laws we are always fighting our own imperfection usually failing every time and needing to be corrected sometimes punished (moses had to give-up chance of seeing the foretold land), so why do we hold this against jw's as a reasons not to be a jw's anymore?.

i remember reading...i think it was ray franz's book (how is ray anyway?

) that the gb said that the sheep "couldnt be trusted" to do anything voluntarily and therefore they couldnt stop the reporting arrangement because nobody would go.. since the statistics clearly clearly clearly indicate that going door to door doesnt work and in fact the number of hours spent bringing just one person into the organization amounts to like 8 hours a day every day for a year...youd think the society would get with the times and eliminate that method.

and...jesus never went door to door anyway.

I've pondered this subject many times over 43 years. I think back to the days when there were sound cars preaching the truth. The wts at one time did use the radio, if I remember correctly. back in the 80's the wts realized that more and more people were working weekends anf therefore decided to find people where they would be when not at home. The Mall, the grocery store, fast food places in the early morning hours, etc. So, they started parking lot campaigns, evening witnessing downtown street corners.

Now, we have the lack of effort by the R&F to do any of it seriously anymore. This only begs the question, Why Not TELEVISION!!!!! Everyone watches TV or uses the Internet. They have Billions of $$$, so why not?? Look at all the Tv preachers on any given sunday morning. they are on SOOOO many main channels AND scores of Cable networks.

Had I not been required to report my time, Yes, I probably would have gone in the Ministry. I remember the deep studies into the greek words for everything in the 70's and 80's. DIOKONIOS, I recall, was literaly " Through the DUST". So, I was happy to go through the dust as the apostles did.

I need direction, a guide, inspiration....Holy Spirit???? (lurkers welcome)

we all know that witnesses go nuts when you point out their apparent lack of attention from god due to all their constant changes in teachings...from being wrong all the time.

somehow, because the slave (gods channel) is imperfect and makes mistakes using gods instructions we should still follow them.

they will say we are not "inspired" by holy spirit like the bible writers...just guided and directed by god, but still imperfect so make mistakes....ok........ you are lost, and need directions to your destination.

TURIN SHROUD/ Has anyone found a faith after leaving??

hi.. ive recently been reading some really interesting stuff about the turin shroud, how it could be authentic after all, and the evidence that points to its authenticity.

of course, this gives me reason for thinking that "what if the gospels are true after all?

has anyone else here looked at the subject of the turin shroud??.

Actually, most people have BLIND faith. They are led around by the way the prevailing winds blow. He's HERE, He's THERE, he's EVERY where. Right! After over 40 years as a jw, I have no faith. Well, I take that back. I have faith that the sun will come up tomorrow, it's law of the universe.

Now, SHOW me a law or a given that there is " A " god, that is living and working for MAN's benefit today and I MIGHT, Just MIGHT give some credence to FAITH.... I believe in MYSELF and my WIFE, and what we do for each other. No GOD has ever done anything for me that I asked of him in my past life.

That's just ME.........

Oompa...You do realize of course that you must KEEP in pace with the guide! That's your fault that you have NOT kept in stride with the SPIRIT that guides the borg! But then again, the wts has now claimed to NOT be under the direct direction of the hs, only influnced by it. MY what a bunch of gobble-de-goop they feed people. Back and forth, god's org, spirit this, spirit that, we said this, we didn't say that.

And then , we have the jw apologist here like this Malakiel character that is SOOOOOOO mind controlled that he continues to carry on this diatribe about us folks. Have they NO CLUE how they must sound to us?

700 million babies to be slaughtered

the world population increases by 70 million each year.. this means that on the day armageddon strikes, at least 700 000 000 babies under the age of 10 wil be slaughtered.. 192 000 of these will be less than 24 hours old, many of them killed with their head barely hanging out of their mothers vagina.. how can the witlesses love a god that would do this - even long for it??.

it strikes me that for the witlesses morality is entirely relative.. i well remember the kingdumb song: "some paint god cruel" (wt does!!!).

Quirky1....to you! I have already started with my friend Jack Daniels, just for starters mind you. This evening at bowling it will continue with pitchers of .

BFD.... I could use some of that natural bovine stuff here myself. My wife was out pulling weeds from the flower beds yesterday and I just knw we'll be going to Home Depot soon.

Carry on my friends, don't let the weekend cut you short for all you need to accomplish. And heaven forbid you should waste any time YOU KNOW WHERE.....
