i thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.
i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!
she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .
Honesty.... I don't believe that she will be discussing spiritual issues here or anywhere else for that matter. I do NOT believe by anything that she has posted that she is a spiritual person. I think that she is just a needy soul that craves acceptance for her lot in life. Her life is one of peaks and valleys with many valleys.

many who post here are always talking about they don't need god and that they don't believe in god and that he dosen't exist.
god does not ask us to do unreasonable things.
most of the things he ask us to do protects our lives.. why don't people get that?

I believe I know what's happening with you Reniaa. Ok, you've had a taste of the world, you have had numerous male relationships and now you've just had another child. Your hormones are running rampant and you feel that you need that warm fuzzy feeling that you THINK you are missing out on with the jw's.
They are going to give you all of that great LOVING attention that you soooo badly crave at this MOMENT. You are on your own for now and probably quite lonely, having to raise your children on your own. So, you're going to go the meetings, kids in tow, and hope, JUST HOPE that some BODY will feel sorry for you and take you under their wing.

Your sister has tried to help you see the falsehoods of the the wts and you have only continued to defend them.
Ya, sure, there are alot of DIFFERANT people on JWD, and they have a right to their opinions and beliefs. Many of them have an axe to grind and for some very good reasons. The truth about the wts is bountiful here, and the internet sites that have exposed these true facts are quite well substantiated.
NOW! Reason on this, just for a moment, from the standpoint of a TRUE jw believer. Through out the years the wts has printed many words about people who have brought REPROACH upon god's name. OH! WOE TO ANY that would bring REPROACH AND SHAME on GOD"S GREAT NAME !!! Reniaa, do you recall such writings? These words are even in one of the Kingdom Melodies, am I not RIGHT?
Now, consider the facts of the matter as regards jw's, the Gb and the child abuse scandals that CONTINUE to unfod at this very date. Just the fact alone that the GB has paid out MILLIONS of dollars to VICTIMS of sexual abuse by ELDERS would certainly be REPROACHFUL in god's eyes. You have to admit that you must agree with this fact. And to think, that the GB of the WTS is THE channel of comminication from god and the HOLDERS and safeguarders of kingdom INTERESTS on earth !!!
Hey, Reniaa, if you don't like what you read here on JWD, you don't have to come here. But, don't forget that you have learned an awful lot while you VISITED with US. I know, I remember how you had your eyes opened on a few occasions here.
Just take to heart the TRUE words that were spoken here. I will be thinking of you and hope that your life gets better over time. I di feel that you do need some sort of direction in your life at this time, I just hope that it isn't a dead end street that THEY lead you down.

what will we do when the persecution comes now that the book study arrangements is gone.. what a joke!
for years the wts has being telling us that one of the purpose of the book study is that we can meet in small groups when the persecution starts, when we are banned the book study will be the only way that we can get our spiritual food and instructions from the governing body.. now how will get these vital instructions?.
gasp!.
If you are sincerely earnest in your desire to know the final outcome of this matter.......Pray.

here is my reasoning on this:.
many seem to think - and apparently the society has even stated now in so many words - that they wish to lessen the 'burden' on the brotherhood by elimination of the additional night of meeting attendance.
oh, sure, they threw out some bullshit about the price of gas - we all know that is a load.
I, personally don't believe that there is much preparation needed be done by an elder to conduct the BS. My observations over the years were that the conductor actually had only done the minimal preparations necessary to ask the questions. Most elders have had enough exposure to wt doctrine that they pretty much know the slant of the scriptures and the heading of the study.
However, as many have posted before, I believe that they are trying to consolidate their control over the flock as a whole by bringing them together for the minimizing of personal comments and speculation in a larger, more public forum.
We all know how at the BS many people have gone off on tangents of speculation and have gotten off the material really fast. The atmosphere has been more laid back and thus the friends have become more FAMILAR with one another and ESPECIALLY with the ELDERS conducting the BS.
Another thing that I have observed over the years, was that many cliques have formed by this famialarity in a more relaxed and intimate setting. Many of the friends have been alienated when some less expierenced jw makes a comment and is then ridiculed in this SMALLER setting by others MORE ENLIGHTENED ones.
Just my thoughts.

it took a long time, but i can finally say i'm out and i took my family with me.. this is my first post but i have been reading here for a while.
i was brought up a witness, in a family that was very 'strong' (or so everyone thought).
i didnt have a relationship with my perents at all other than the 'family study'.

Ya. Although I have found alot of suppport and sound information here, I am most oftenly entertained here. I can laugh with the humour and sigh with the sadness. It's everday life to me. Kinda like reading Reader's Digest, only on a more personally edited basis.

i see this a lot on this forum, loads of people saying they left jw's because of "hypocritical ....... ( put elder, pioneer, couple, sister, brother, governing body) here.. but?.
why would you expect any man-run organisation if you believe the bible, to have to be perfect and not be full of imperfect people that will come across as hypocritical?.
the bible examples from israelites onwards name anyone :- moses, king david, pharasees, paul the one thing the bible doesn't do is white-wash them it shows that however much we follow the laws we are always fighting our own imperfection usually failing every time and needing to be corrected sometimes punished (moses had to give-up chance of seeing the foretold land), so why do we hold this against jw's as a reasons not to be a jw's anymore?.
The point I am amking is Why or how did you ever study with them for 17 years and not get baptised? JW's do NOT carry on a study with people for that long.....
