well,been here for a while now,making the odd.........very odd................post,but never started a thread.

Excellant Candle Man. Now, here is where some very deep reasoning has to come in. So, the god of the Hebrews, Jah, gets insulted because one of his prophets gets Dissed. He sends wild bears, she bears, to attack 42 young people, no doubt out on a field trip from the local kibbutz. Doesn't make sense to me. This god of the Hebrews, whose son is jesus, sent these bears to attack kids, however, what did he send when the Romans crucified his son? Surely now, that would have dissed him even more, ya think? Now, consider this. Would jesus have sent she bears to kill 42 young kids even if they had dissed himself? Hmmmm? There is quite a contradiction in the vengeful god of the Hebrews to his son who preached love and forgiveness, woudn't you agree?

From my observations of the morphing of jw's there are 2 camps of belief. The first one is the obvious old school folks who have always believed to " Trust in Jehovah". That's all that you need to do. Everything else will fall into place and take it's course, jehovah always brings the truth of a matter to light. YA RIGHT!

The second camp are those born in witness kids of my son's age, 32-36, who are hangers on for the social network that they have. They put on a good show for the first camp but in their own world they do what they please and have sidestepped the close scrutiny of the congregation.

So, my answer to the question," What really matters in WT World? Whatever floats your boat, so long as you make a good showing of whatever form of worship you portray to others.

I must say that I have very mixed feelings on the matter. As a jw, I was very anti-gay, discusted with the thought of it, found it abhorrent. So, after not having been under the influence of the wts now for 6 years + I had changed my attitude to some degree. My new bride's nephew is gay, nice kid,30 something. But he likes to flount his affairs, that he fell in love with a sailor in Hawaii. So, hey, let them live their lives I say. So, up until last August I had pretty much become accepting of gays as humans themselves, like me. No big deal. I'm leading up to something here, so please bear with me on this.

In the past 10 years or so, I have become more focussed on one's CHARACTER. I am very mcuh into searching out what a person is all about in their heart, what motivates them and why they do what they do. So, over the past 6 years or so, I have become an avid bowler, as some of you may know. I was bowling on 2 nights a week, one night with my wife on mixed doubles league the other night on a very competetive and very , how do you say, we had comeraderie? Anyways. It was a men's league and these guys were GOOD. So, I was invited to join a differant team after 3 years of the same team and I found the new team quite diverse. One head case, one loud mouth drunk old fart, one kept to himself but kindly. The fifth, the team captain,51, was gay. Nice guy mind you, didn't act out, no gay talk stuff like that. So, we all a good time, shot the BS alot, lots of beer, shots, just good ole guy stuff. So, last August, we were having our pre-season league meeting, just to see what teams were bowling again. It turned out, I was the only member of our team to show up?? So, I figured, no problem, the other guys never called to cancel so I figured we were all bowling that season. WRONG! I got a call about a week later from the loud mouth that we didn't have a team this year. It seems as though the captain had gotten arrested. Now, this was recorded in the local newspaper which I hadn't seen and is fact. On a warm sunny Sunday afternoon, he had a pot of speghetti sauce on for dinner and was fooling around on the internet. So, he decided to drive about 35 miles away to meet up with a YOUNG man, 14 I think he said he was , at a house that he was given directions by phone to, yes he called the YOUNG man as he referred to him. It turns out that 11 other men also showed up at the house to meet the YOUNG man, and they were all promptly arrested. Ya! Perverted Justice Organization Internet Sex Sting Operation!

So, my point is this....You never know what some one you may like or be associated with is really all about, character wise that is. Ya, I know, straight guys go after the young girls etc. Everyone has their demons.......Needless to say, my slant on gays has changed once more. I am much more cautious in how I deal with people, but you never know what ANYONE is driven by, do you?

Oh, he was tried and convicted on 2 felony counts and is now serving 1 to 15 years in prison.

hahaha i just recieved a certified letter , an invitation to a little party known as a jc at the local geneseo ,il kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses to discuss the matter more fully that i refused to discuss with an elder on the phone about .

come to our party june 23 held in your honor ...yea right !!.

so our certified letters will be received on the same day sweet !

Hey TM! Not having been to a meeting in 6 years, I have become known in my neighborhood as " Clark Griswold" . You would have never guessed that I USED to be an active jw of over 40 years! Not with the way my home is decorated for the holidays. Yes, you may have some of my excess acutriments if you'd like them. Lighted flying raindeer and sleigh. Lighted snow man family, Lighted opening and closing gift box. Assorted wreaths, and who knows what else I have stored in the garage attic and basement. You'll have to ask my wife first, Mrs. Xmas herself.

On the part about the elder's invitation to you. Don't they ever give it a break? Cmon now! I know that the GB doesn't give them extra credit for dragging some poor inactive soul into a committee meeting. If they were to ever do this to me, there would be HELL to pay. Sorry, but I'm not interested. You may wish to bring up some of their own indescretions, by mail of course. That is of course if you decide to waste your time at all on them.

Thank you, We have duly registered with the Twp that we ARE an active HOA, this is for a number of reasons, not just to keep solicitors out. Nor is it to force policies on residents, but, to maintain a high standard of living that will hopefully increase our property values. First off, I didn't want this job, all I wanted to do was to serve the community. The rest of the Board of Directors elected me, no election, seems that I have certain outspoken abilities and some sort of extra time on my hands. Now, as for the JW's. I, having had been one for what , 40 years, knew damn well what their rights were and were not. Lord knows all the talks and admonition that was given on this subject. They always had some way around it, in and out fast, 2 doors and out, walk in an apartment and ring just one bell to buzz you in, hey, I learned from the best. Now, I know MY rights in the local twp and I will stand up for the rights of my neighbors.

As, one or two of you may be inclined to believe that HOA's are a pain in the butt, those residents who purchased their home in here knew right out of the gate that an HOA exisited in here. What's interesting to note is that we originally had a management compnay running us at a cost of $10,000.00 per year. We, however, fired them when thier contract was up and took over the HOA as a self managing entity. We are able to much better manage the association's funds and are doing much more for the indivual resident than the management company ever did. I am a very proactive member of the Board and my sole purpose is to serve the neighbors, not harrass them. Oh, sure, very noble on my part you say. Hey! If I can protect their interests in their property values, I can at the same time be protrecting mine. But, hey! We've gotten off the subject that I wished to address and that was the JW's. I don't want them in here, and funny thing is, they have no clue who I am or that I ever was one of them. I live many miles from where I used to attend.

Now, having been on the other side of the fence, so to speak, and having had HOA's run me out of their subdivision, the shoe is on the other foot. As I said in my come back post yesterday, I have become very active in my local community. I am the President of our Home Owner's Association. No, I'm not a Nazi or anything like that, we are just trying to maintain a high standard of living here, keep our property values up, that sort of thing. So, I was able to have our Borad of Directors take a vote and we have decided that we don't want ANY solicitors in here, unless they are licensed by the local township govt. YEP! That means THEM ! Oh ya, the Supreme court, etc, yada, yada, but when an HOA decides that they don't want ANY BODY, then whe have the right to tell them to leave. I effectively did that last summer, short and sweet, they left. Now, however, I had another couple of them 3 weeks ago. These 2 come to my door, satchels accross their back, which is how I think they carry their literature anymore, shirts, ties, they had that JW look all over them. So, I asked, duh, how can I help you? The up front fella say, " We are involved in a FAMILY Health Care Work......Hmmm Now, in order for ANY door to door solicitor to be able to even legally come to my door, he must have paid the fee, $100.00 at the township. So, I asked these Family Health Care Workers if they had a permit from the township....Get this part......The lead fella states, " Are you familiar with the Supreme Court ruling on GOSPEL WORKERS"???? OMG! Now he's a GOSPEL worker! I blew my shorts off on that one. I said, " Yes, I am familiar with the supreme court ruling on GOSPEL workers", and I told him that as a HOA we don't want them in our neighborhood and to leave before the police get in here. GEEEEEZZZ now they are using that blasted Theocratic Tact form of lying to get at your door!!!Give me a break. Anyways, they did leave, and I gave myself a HIGH FIVE!!!

Hey there all my dear ole friends in JWD land! WOW!, what a trip! It's not that I haven't been thinking about all of you, just had some new adventures that I've been involved in. I have totally immersed myself in the WORLD!! ACH! Heaven forbid! LMAO! I have become very civic minded lately, have become involved on the Board of Directors of a few local annd community oriented organizations. NO, I have no time what-so-ever for meeting attendance, ahhhhhhh... In fact, I haven't been to one of those in what? almost 6 years? Boy time flies when you are having fun people. So, anyways, I think that I'll just sit back and get a feel for what's been happening here ...... Where's Flipper? Tell him that I am back. I'll try to see how to navigate this new forum.
