  i know i m a simple mind, but if 3 jws study with a jw-child or someone else for an hour, they ll all report there own time, which will add up to 3 hours, right?

  but the real netto time spent for the study is obviously 1 hour, no matter how many jws took part.

  am i seeing a mathimatical fault?.

  the elder who conducted the BS in our home told me he wanted to pioneer and that he could get his time
  in this way: do the day text with his wife, wake his 4 YO son (an only child back then, now there are 5 of them!)
  and do a bible study out of the book of bible stories at 7:30 in the morning, so his time was still amassing as he ate
  breakfast and drove to the KH to conduct the service mtg! then of course he paracticed all the schemes mentioned
  ITT, including the "star of david" route for RVs....

  fake time is fake time... and i was never smart enough to fake it!!

  what are the rewards for not being a witness any longer

  if the carrot and stick aspect of being jehovahs witnesses upset you how do you reclaim your desire for reward?

  i'm assumng that you all agree with me that feeling rewarded is a basic human desire.

  how much effort do you think we should put into trying to make our lives rewarding?

  embracing the here and now and making the most of it

  a few highlights of leading my own life:

  -- about 12 weeks from a degree
  -- 12 time kiva.org lender (secular)
  -- monthly donations to build wells in sub-saharan african villages (religiously affiliated)
  -- board member of local chapter of national advocacy organization
  -- participant in policy training leading to lobbying on capital hill
  -- habitual voter
  -- able to lovingly parent all my grown children, including the ones who live with their SOs
  -- able to develop peaceful resolution of marital disparities without interference from know-nothing "leaders"
  -- able to selectively choose friendships without being treated like an incompetent
  -- able to stop judging every other human or question their intention, morals or level of devotion (to anything!)

  geezus, there is so much more peace, passion and pleasure in everyday living that comes from
  not being a benighted, frightened dr0ne in lock-step with a cult! WE get to decide what is meaningful
  and fulfilling, and not worry about what anyone else thinks about it...

  it is called getting a life and staying busy living it!

  Having the Circuit Oversear over for dinner...was it like a royal visit for you??

  i rang a sister who i haven't spoken to for years who said "she couldn't talk since she was cooking for the c.o and his wife who have special dietary needs......was this like a royal visits at your cong and whats with the "we can't eat flour, or yeast" or blah blah blah!

  we actually did have the CO and his wife over once....

  we had several families over so it was more like a party
  and SHE was hilarious! it was actually lots of fun....
  her off color-joke, told after she dismissed the children

  dying man goes to dr, who tells the wife...
  "your husband CAN recover if you cook, clean and
  have sex with him every day" .... husband asks
  wife what the dr said and she replies "he said you're gonna die"

  nothing like that sense of being in the company of royalty....

  i must say, i have had so much fun on this site - some real laugh out loud moments for my friends and i to enjoy.. no need to respond - i am busy pioneering from tomorrow, so will no longer have time on my hands to sit at my pc enjoying laughing at your pathetic comments.

  Dinner With a Pioneer Couple Last Night

  my wife and i had dinner with a pioneer couple last night that we've been friends with for a long time.

  they are both nice people, with the wife having a few dashes of pretentiousness mixed in.. usually when we are together, they always talk about pioneering, which makes some sense as it's the primary focus of thier lives.

  however, it has gotten progressively more dominate in conversation over the last couple of years, to the point of being annoying.

  in their 70s and 80s) used to say

  nobody talks about time as much as prisoners and pioneers

  our publisher count was about 130-135.

  when we were "in"
  just over 100 publishers.... LOTS of kids
  we had 4 kids and that was average size

  i know several now grown kids have moved away
  to find work, get married & have kids, etc but i have
  no clue who remains, and frankly dont care much.....

  i find that i am forgetting the names
  of the people with whom i spent 20 years...
  i hope that lapse is reciprocated!!!

  dont sleep with the two pooches, but it isnt about
  being sanitary, it is about being the pack leader
  and not sharing my space or postion with them....

  they dont seem to mind that they each have their
  own memory foam fake fleece 4 inch thick pad!!

  the rats, well they like to lick my hands after i have
  prepared their food, but they dont get to be any place
  other than their cage or specially built play area...
  they pee and poop on a whim!!!

  What is happening to JWN ?...So many topics not relating to Jehovah's Witnesses!

  note the home page..wow how it has changed.. jehovah's witness discussion forumthe place to discuss anything relating to jehovah's witnesses and the watchtower bible and tract society... or just make new friends!.

  many of the posts have nothing to do with with jehovah's witnesses and new ones coming on this board would be turned off by the content of many of these off color posts.

  foul inappropriate language which is not proper or suitable for exiting witnesses to visibly inspect.

  it would seem, as has been said, that xjws are as diverse as the real world....
  hence the multi-dimensional aspect to the site, which btw, seems to have
  enough appeal to continue a growing membership... it may not appeal to
  every exiting jw, but then again, it shouldnt have to.... to each her own...
