the first thing that started my waking up process was something i heard at a convention. the society is killing itself with this strategy of tightening the grip. many of my witness friends are becoming disgruntled. it didnt used to be like this. the society is in the most troubling time its ever been in. every single on of my friends thought the 07 km was crazy and the talk about education by losh was crazy. these are people that at one time were zealous.

in the past few years i really felt bad when i left because they didnt really talk that much about Jesus. so i would go home and read the Bible and discuss it with my family. i always felt something was missing from the memorial. glad i figured it out, lol

many years ago, at least in my hall if you read an apostate book, while it certainly was not recommended or a good idea, you would not get DF. now it seems that if you even posses a book thats apostate, you will get DF.

by Lady Zombie init sure does seem like the wtbts is subtly edging jws towards actually worshipping the fds.
they're constantly reminding jws that all spiritual food is provided via the fds and how the wtbts are jehovah's chosen representatives.. and the nebulous hypothetical question that the wtbts has been asking of late of (paraphrased) 'will you accept and obey direction from the fds, no matter how strange it may appear?
' they insinuate that "in the last days," jws may be issued instructions that may, at first, appear to be outlandish, but that their very survival depends on it.. it was ominously mentioned at the last dc and was mentioned again several times in congregational meetings, especially during the book study which not surprisingly is the revelation book.. the first problem here is, the current gb, the very ones responsible for "providing food at the proper time" are not among the annoited.

How Long Did It Take You to Realize It Wasn't "The Truth"?

i think you can just look at my post history and see how long it took me, lol. im not sure i had doubts, i just knew that i heard alot of stuff that didnt sit well at conventions and meetings. but i didnt think it was the org, i thought it was the people. so i starting looking into that, and slowly would go to "apostate" sites. I truly felt that the truth can stand up to anything. i was right, the REAL truth can stand up to anything. the witness truth cant stand up to a light breeze. i read on here that someone said that no one could read COC and remain a witness. I took that as a challenge, and read it, then read In search of Christian Freedom.
Even after all that, while i had major issues, it didnt click in my brain that there is no chance the WTS is not God's org. Indoctrination is a hell of a drug! What made it all click was a PDF article by a guy, I forget his name, anyway it was a total break down of how the society lies about its past history and covers it up. Thats when I said to myself "there is no way in hell, God would have anything to do with an organization that lies". -

JW's and weddings
by nana1957 ini am sure this has been discussed before, would appreciate anything on this.
i was always under the assumption that a jw was not allowed to be an attendant in a 'worldly' wedding.
meaning that you would not be able to be a bridesmaid or groomsman if you were baptized.

depends on the elders. i was removed as a servant because i didnt have my wedding in the kingdom hall. so its up to the men in your hall and their personal opinion.
