  There are cultural and genarational issues beyond JWism . Most children were spanked (not punched or whipped) a short while ago and none of them were nannified like nowadays. I saw a guy trying to sue a neighbor because they 'hurt his feelings' by calling him a name. geesh.

  I have never spanked my children but this is down to each parent to make the decision and at the moment its not against the law so they are doing nothing wrong. Yet you get a self rightous exjw who think they are far better parents simply because they havent spanked a child. duh.

  seems a 54 year old british school teacher who is teaching grammer school classes in the sudan has committed a despicable act by blastpheming and showing no respect for the prophet!

  can you believe it; she actually allowed the children in her class to name a teddy bear being used in a class project muhammad!!

  the sudanise government, carrying out its god given duty is putting her on trial.

  How can anyone sympathise with a group of total fanatics who would do such a thing to a lady who is solely in their country to help them?

  Islam should be dissed by every country for its touchy weeny prophet who would cry and require death to anyone who would dare call him names...dur. Other prophets have been tortured and have still shown compassion and called for peace. Yet he gets called a name and his followers think he is being dishonored to the point of death. wimps.

  Just for the record, the teddy was named Muhammad by the children and not the teacher. Most of the boys are named Muhammed.

  These reports just draw a lime between extreme muslims and the rest of the world. Next time I hear the name of Muhammed I'll remember it as being the name of the worst wimpiest 'prophet' thats ever existed

  2 years ago i left jws.

  i went to a baptist church because it was what my husband was.

  i knew i wanted to go to church but which one i really didn't know yet.. two years later, i think i have made up my mind: presbyterian.. anyone have anything they want to share?

  I don't like the dispensational Baptist idea that makes people freak out about every new world event. I'm a partial preterist ...

  That the conclusion I am reaching lately, partial preterism. Just read "The apocalypse code' by H Hanegraaff and have enjoyed it. I dont fully endorse all the ideas arround preterism but I kind think their interpretation of "this generation" is correct.

  I was just listening to Sandra Tanner speaking on the bible answer man, on the internet today (Gooogle it), it was a great discussion.

  I have mormon missionary friends and know other ex mormons.

  Great to hear that you got out, it is a truely difficult time leaving the cults, in particular the JW/Mormon movements.

  Hope your family follow you eventually

  in a sense its my fault, i made her take a look in the loft to see what she wanted me to take down.

  anyway while she was perched on top of the ladder, she slipped back and banged her head/neck/back.

  she is ok, up, smiling and joking compared to before when things looked quite serious.

  hi, i'm poppyr's son.

  i was brought up a jehovah's witness and have only very recently lots most of my faith in it.

  for years i was in that religion and could never quite make sense of it.
