  When Loneliness Sets In ?

  since i have left the non-truth it seems like sometimes loneliness sets in regardless of what you do do prevent it.. i suppose the main reason it happens for me is that my family still is very involved in the non-truth and i tend to not to have nothing to do with any jws at all, even though my wife has bookstudy and field service at our home.. well i guess that goes with the territory when you make a firm conviction to take a stand against something you know not to be true.. here are some quotes on this subject for anyone who likes quotes.. .

  shakespeare, leonardo da vinci, benjamin franklin, and lincoln never saw a movie, heard a radio, or looked at a tv they had loneliness and knew what to do with it.

  they were not afraid of being lonely because they knew that was when the creative mood in them would mark.. .

  Accepted 66 books of Canon

  considering an apostacy that was well into swing by 100ad, and worse yet by the time the nicene council was held in 325ad... how are jehovah's witnesses sure about the basically protestant canon they initially accepted which was canonized about 376ad at earlist and still even then, many christians didn't agree upon that and still don't today!

  i could go into more detail if desired... but upon what basis to jw's accept this canon from an apostate generation?

  how do they know that other books such as the book of enoch originally held to be scripture and quoted frequently in mark or the shepherd of hermes should not be included as inspired?

  what you have to understand aboutv the canon is that some book were left out of it itnentionally, God inspired the canon fathers to rightly choose wich books belong and which do not.

  There others were left out for three main reasons; Scriptural UNsoundness, Authorship in question, or perhaps accuracy of the text in general.
  What I mean by that last one, is that books like the book of Enoch were left out becaue they are so old that their true accuracy can no longer be determined with confidence. Enoch for example is seventh from Adam. Original texts are no longer in existence, and any that we do have are so old they could be full of errors, and people down the line could have added to them and no one would ever know it.

  Once I asked my mentor about Enoch in particular; it seemed odd to me that Enoch was not made part of the canon. If Peter in the Spirit quoted from him that alone would have given it muscle enough to make it part of the canon.
  but the truth is, there are no longer any RELIABLE texts of Enoch to add them to canon.

  I *witnessed* to the *Christians* last night--LOL!

  thought you all would enjoy this.. i went to a b'day party for a friend who is a bible-thumper in the worst way!

  (10x worse than most jw).. i'm sitting around like a zombie while everyone is talking about how "blessed" they are to "know christ" blah blah blah blah blah.. then my interest got peaked as one of the women started quoting scripture talking about how the reason her life is blessed is that her great great grandmother was a russian mennonite blah blah blah and the bible says that god will bless your offspring if you come to know him.

  blah blah blah.. so i start asking a few well placed questions like "well what does that mean for the poor muslim sop whose great great grandmother was a muslim?

  WHAT am I hearing here?

  Do you not believe that the only way to be saved is by confessing Jesus as Lord and King just as the bible says? Do you not believe that you are saved only by accepting His loving sacrifice as the bible states?

  It breaks my heart to see such abusiveness of others here; WHERE is the love that Jesus commanded us to have for everyone whether we agree or not?
  LOVE for the day is near.

  It is true that, by God's will (though not His desire) many will choose death over life, many will reject Jesus as Lord. They do this to the expense of their eternal life, believing they are right and God is wrong.

  I feel such great sadness for anyone who rejects the truth.

  Hebrews 9:28 & "Appear"

  i am trying to understand upon what basis the jehovah's witnesses equate the word "appear" with "invisible" in hebrews 9:28. in the kjv it says, "so christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.".

  looking at the dictionary:.

  [middle english aperen, from old french aparoir, aper-, from latin apprre : ad-, ad- + prre, to show.

  You can't be setting dates like that, LARS, or listening to others that do. This whole 1914 thing is nonsense to begin with.
  and when Jesus comes back it will not be a big secret, ALL will see Him for His coming will be like the lightning. Read Matt. 24:30. It says that they shall see the Son of Man, ALL the tribes of the Earth.
  We are not supposed to set dates in any way, only to have faith and confidence that His coming is soon. He did NOT come back in 1914, 1975, 1994, whatever.
  First of all what has to happen is the Rapture of the Church, (Rev. 3:10, 2 Thess. 2:7) And then the Antichrist will appear setting up a seven year peace plan, and only at the end of the seven years will Jesus return (2 Thess 2:8)

  do not let anyone deceive you in any way, but ask for the guidance of God through the Holy GHost.

  Escaped with my life!

  i wanted to give an update to all those who kindly offered suggestions on how to deal with my jw son's ultimatum' "go tell the elders, or i will".. these last few days have been an intense crash course in life for me.

  having experienced my firstborn son, whom i gave birth to, wiped his behind, dried his tears, and helped to grow to adulthood with loving support, threaten to turn me over to the "authorities" (elders) for wrong thinking and wrong speech, has been a deeply disturbing experience.

  learning the truth about the "truth" was shocking, but this is just a crying tragedy.. after he found a short email from a board friend, which inadvertantly got into our regular email box instead of my private one, i was given a week to go to the elders.

  Jesus is with you, hon, please do not be afraid. Jesus said that these things would actually happen, that He, or more precisely those who choose to follow the truth (I mean the RIGHT truth, not the WT lies) could actually cause grat dissent in families. But hold fast to the truth, persevere, little child of God, He will NEVER abandon you. He loves you and always will.

  matthew 28:19 says to be baptized in the "name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy ghost.

  " what is the justification used in jehovah's witnesses changing this.

  The Fathr, Son and Holy Ghost DOES equal the trinity for you are not being baptised into the name of THREE gods, but three-as-one.

  And as for 666 as someone mentioned, that is actually the ANTI-trinity, the Devil, the Beast, and the False prophet.

  Life without Religion

  like many of you i dedicated many years of my life searching for the "true" faith or religion.. after researching and considering religion i came to the conclusion that there is not such.

  i decided to worship god in my own temple.

  I have no clue where the JW gets the idea that Jesus came back in an invisible presence, for not only has He NOT come back yet (though He will soon) the bible makes it PERFECTLY clear that when He does, EVERYONE shall see Him very well, thank you....There are many proofs of this too, Matth. 24:30 is a good one to begin with.

  Coming vs. Presence

  as i have studied the kjv, matthew 24:3 uses the word "coming" in the same way matthew 21:5 does.

  matthew 24:3: "and as he sat upon the mount of olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, tell us, when shall these things be?

  and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

  You should understand them as they are written; the King is COMING, and soon will be coming back to be here forever. The word PRESENCE itself can also be seen as PHYSICAL presence, NOT invisible. When Jesus comes back, ALL will see Him perfectly clearly, as the bible foretells.
