Ok, I was doing some reseach and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I have so far. We know that The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures is very close to the critical works of Westcott and Hort. These men believed that there wasn't a firey hell, that we don't have a soul, Jesus was not God, ect. Now the early manuscripts of the bible that they used for translation didn't all match even in the 4th and 5th century. So these men may have been biased when choosing what to except and what not to expect. Since the late 1800's when there work was finished older manuscripts have been discovered. Does anyone know what contradictions if any exist between these older writings and the works of Westcott and Hort? Considering The New World Translation is 99% the same as their works and Jehovah's witnesses have many of the same beliefs as these men. I believe even small grammar differences in the book of Revelation could change the meanings significantly and I'd like to know what these are if they exsist. Does anyone know anything about this subject?

Yeah...... my girlfiend.....Her dad was the P.O. and she was a pioneer. She decided after they df'd me that she didn't even want to be a witness anymore so she told them she's not sorry for anything she's ever done so they df'd her. She's in the process of moving out of her parents house. She's very depressed and thinks she's a bad person, but she's sick of how judgmental ppl in the truth are. She's acting kind of crazy and I'm hoping after a few weeks pass she'll calm down. She was close to her parents and she knows they will never speak to her again considering her older sister is df'd and her dad hasn't spoken to her in 8 years. We broke up last week because she's emotionally unstable right now and we thought it would be a good idea so that are next choices in life are what's good for us instead of just being about staying together. Honestly I don't want her to give up everything in her life just because I got df'd. Even if it's not the truth and she's right for leaving it still broke up there family and that's a bad thing.

I'm angry, confused and I'm tired of fighting. It seems like membership in a religion is more like a club with rules that go against conventional wisdom and the very priciples of the scriptures themselves. Knowledge, compassion, and honesty are things ppl can't handle or except for some reason.

I told those brothers yesterday when I was leaving that I hope Jehovah's more forgiving then they are. The Isrealites were jehovah's people for a time then they lost his favor. Is it possible that the organization could become so corupt that they would lose his favor also? Or does he need them no matter what to fulfill prophecy about the good news being preached over the whole inhabited earth? I was told by a ex-missionary that there's been at least congregation's where the spirit was no longer present and the elders all had to be deleted and the publishers were sent to different congregations. Is this possible on a larger scale?

No, I'm the only one in my family that was a jw, even tho I was baptized 10 years ago. I don't work with any witnesses. Anyway I moved out when I was 19. It's funny though I've gotten dozens of phone calls from witnesses locally that are outraged about this whole thing and still want to be friends with me. So maybe I'll be ok. I think I pissed the elders off when I called all my friends and said goodbye to them. Unfortunatly my disfellowshipping seems to be stumbling a lot of ppl.

I understand what you're saying, but how is it even possible to prove that you were repentant in the first jc meeting? Should it be recorded? lol Not only that but there's a conflict of interest when my A.C. elders are friends with my J.C. elders. When I turned in my appeal letter, the elder I turned it in to asked me in an angry tone"Are you sure you want to put us all through that? Why don't you just let it go?" Like by appealing it I was hurting them in some way.

It was pretty messed up. I appealed and two of the three elders on my appeal commity were from our sister congregation. When I turned in my appeal letter, the elder I turned it in to tried to talk me out of appealing. The appeal commity elders where friends with my jc. To say the least after going over everything for the second time basically the new set of elders told me that it obvious I'm sorry and if they would have met with me first i wouldn't have been df'd but there's no way of knowing if I was equally repentant during my first jc. Therefore they had no choice but to uphold the disfellowshipping. I told them they care more about the letter of the law then showing compasion and that they're no better then the Pharisee's of Jesus' day-jake

I’m white so it’s uncomfortable being the one to mention this but while are angels in all the society’s publications always Caucasian? Well….ok, maybe they’re just Jews with a light complexion. lol
