I get that all the time.
Most will ignore me, some will say hi and some will talk. Most will say the old "Well, you know it's the truth"
My standard comment is that I was disfellowshipped for apostasy, have an apostate Blog and in 6 years have made no attempt to "get back". I have not attended a meeting, a memorial, nothing. Does it look like I think it’s the truth?
It's the programmed arrogance that they are reacting to, that “They’ll be back, they know it’s the truth”. I know there are people that come back. I did an informal survey of people I personally knew and that showed more stay out than go back. Also, I noticed those whose families did not totally shun them were more likely to go back.
Which brings up another point. Different people treat the disfellowshipped one differently. Different strokes.

You know it's the Truth though right?
by freedomfighter insince i have been out i have bumped into witnesses at the supermarket where i work, as you do.
some have the balls to say "hi" and "hang in".
others have bigger kahunas and actually talk to me - this doesn't go unappreciated by me.

Look at all yhe evidence. Do some research on the contradictions and ouright lies in the literature.
Make your own decision, but get as many facts first.

My Grandmother was a saint. My Grandfather was the most paient, loving Grandfather anyone could have.
Both Witnesses. Grandpa was outspoken and would not think twice about taking on any pompous elder who said something out of line. He ws never a servant and both he and Gma could talk the Bible better than any of oue so-called spiritual leaders.
They both die in the mid 80's. I live in Flrodia and they lived in New England. I do have sevral momentos from them that will on occasion back memories.
It's a nice feeling.

Did any of you ex JW's lead a double life? Any good stories?
by isnrblog ini did when i was a teenager.
i was a good little witness on the outside but a pot smoking, girl chasing, booze swilling....normal teenager.. funny story.
i was 17 and this elders wife started a study with a lady in our neighborhood.

I am not a big lady killer, believe me. I was 17, working out, had a hard young body and obviously this Elders wife was not being "taken care of" at home.
I was somewhat lucky with the ladies. I had a paper route and had "incidents" with two of my lady customers at 16. One lived two doors down from my Grandmother.
I got stupid and had a JW relapse and married a sister who was hot when we got married but two kids and 7 years later, making love was like riding a beachball. I still had a 33 inch waist. We divorced and quite a while later I was DF'd for apostacy. I have since remarried. I never cheated when I was married but in between, well lets just say there are alot of lonely ladies out there. Witnesses included.
No insult to ladies with my "beachball" comments. A lot of guys "pork out" too.

Jehovah's Witnesses and the UN..again. I'm in a quandry.

The two links on my original post show that during this time that they were a NGO they published some "fluff" articles that were favorable of the UN. There are several examples of this on these sites.

The UN thing was my first post and thank you all for the answers and the welcome. This seems to be a great site. Are there many Witnesses that participate? That always makes things fun. I think I saw some "Witness Moles" commenting.
I have several questions that I have been pondering and I know I can get some good answers here. I've done a ton more research on the JW/UN thing and they just compound their deceit with more lies. The "library card" claim is bogus as you do not have the be an NGO to get access to the UN library. Also, to be an NGO at the time they were, they had to pledge to support the UN charter. There is alot more at these two links;
http://www.randytv.com/secret/NGOrequirements.htmand http://www.randytv.com/secret/unitednations.htm
I'm sorry if you guys already know this.
The Big Question is WHY? What could the Society possibly gain by being an NGO? There's got to be a reason and I bet thats a bigger story than the fact that they were an NGO. The fact that they were an NGO was public, the could have used the library without being an NGO, someone was bound to find out. Why did they do it? Sure, they could BS the membership with the library card excuse but they did and will lose some membership and credibility. There seems to be a much bigger thing going on here. It makes no sense. On the surface, they had nothing to gain. What am I missing?

An unbelievable quote by the JW's about the New World Translation
by isnrblog ini came across this incredable quote in the watchtower, .
from the watchtower 8/1/62, pg 480: .
"the way these two words have been rendered in the new world translation has given rise to the charge that the new world bible translation committee let their religious beliefs influence them.

I think you are totally wrong. A translator with a good understanding of the contemporary language, customs and even slang of the period would do a better job.
Someone with a preconceived theology is like a mathematician decided before hand that 2+2 would equal 5 and than building a mathematical argument to support it.
Trying to translated the Bible, when you already believe a theology gaurantees innaccuracy.
I actually don't give a s**t about the Bible. This line of discussion simply reinforces the idea that the Bible is innacurate and in effect meaningless because all translators have a theology. In fact, there is no proof that the Bible is even Gods word.
