Stay At Home Moms/Dads
by cognac ini have a 3 and 1 year old.
hubby is a stay at home dad and i take care of the bills.
i have to, cause instead of working on his career when he was younger, he decided to pioneer- that is something that now i have to pay the price for which really sucks.. i feel that since i pay the bills, it's his job to cook and do all of the cleaning.

I have a 3 and 1 year old. Hubby is a stay at home Dad and I take care of the bills. I have to, cause instead of working on his career when he was younger, he decided to pioneer- that is something that now I have to pay the price for which really sucks.
I feel that since I pay the bills, it's his job to cook and do all of the cleaning. He has all this time to go out and do what he wants, go on Facebook all the time, etc, I don't feel like I should have to have do do any of that.
I feel like I get taken advantaged of. When I struggle and say I need his help financially, it's like he doesn't care at all and it's not his problem. He tells me, "yup, I can get a job, but we will have to sell the house and move into a trailer".
It's like he just doesn't care at all and I have to figure it out. Every morning I wake up, and he gets to sleep another 3 hours while I go to work. Then, I find out he spends all this time on the computer. I come home and the house is a mess.
I'm beginning to get really bitter towards him. Am I being unrealistic?

Well, I think you have to get a little bit more of a plan in place. It might be a good idea to start a thread on things to do to help loneliness and depression.
Here are some ideas that I have done in the past to help me battling the same things:
1. I went to meetup.com and went out with some really nice groups of people with the same interests as me.
2. Exercise - That really helps with depression
3. Get something regular with the therapist.
4. Change your diet. Too much unhealthy food can contribute to depression.
Ok, that's all I can think of now, but get really active in starting a plan. Even if it's just one regular thing to start with to make yourself happier.

Hi Kate82!
Have you been to therapy for your depression?

Did you ever shun people when you were a dub? How did it feel?
by oldlightnewshite inokay, i don't know lots of people that were df'd, but of all the times i've encountered df people when i was a dub, they actually blanked me!
it was always something that i had fixed in my mind that the jws had dead wrong, even when i was an uber dub.
i remember several times when i used to arrive late at meetings, and i'd make a point of getting eye contact with the poor dub at the back sitting on the naughty step.

I'd always say hi or smile. I wouldn't go out of my way to make a phone call or see the person or anything.
I wonder if the JWs are as strict about it now. I've been talking very openly to a d'ffed girl when I go to a meeting every once in awhile, nobody seems to care. Another sister always helps her with her kids.
My FIL was d'ffed, there wasn't a problem talking to him under the, "mental problems" clause.
Then, a pioneer sister came out as a lesbian and got d'ffed. I reached out to her on Facebook. She didn't want to have a friendship with me cause she felt it would cause to many problems I guess...

My Dad Said He Loved Me
by cognac inhe's said it before, but, it was different this time.
his dad just died and i know there are parts about me that are the exact replica of him and grandpa.
him and gramp had a falling out cause of the jw religion.. anyways, i had the funny feeling that my dad has been looking at things differently lately, but, i know he won't say much cause he's in way too deep at this point.. he came up to me the other night, and said he really loved me.

Do you think there'd be any real benefit for him to wake up, i.e. would he face loss of other family members, if he were DF'ed?
Yeah, I don't think it would benefit him enough. He'd lose my mom and some of my siblings. I'm not sure he gets how bad of an impact it's had on his kids - exempt with me cause I just couldn't hold back AT ALL...
What's great is that in those 5 years you didn't compromise.
Not sure if you'd call it a comprimise, but, I took some real good advice here and just stopped talking about religion (except every once in awhile I need to rattle my moms cage, lol) and just started building relationships that had nothing to do with religion.
My 85 yr.old elder dad STILL to this day in all my 53 years of life has NEVER said he loves me.
That's really sad flipper. That must be really painful... I'm sure he does - just doesn't know how to show it. And you should be VERY proud of yourself for learning from his mistakes.

Yeah, I just keep trying to relive the moment over and over again. I'm finally at peace with him and everything that has happened...

I really think he's at the beginning stages of figuring it out. I wonder what he will do next?
