  What makes WT think they can reassign Bethel volunteers to be Regular Pioneers.

  when the gb cuts loose 1600 volunteers, what makes them think they can continue telling them how they will spend their time?

  i've read on many of these threads that the 1600 will be reassigned.

  what, are they still under some sort of contract?.

  I thought Special Pioneers got some money monthly from Bethel. Is that incorrect?

  I'd guess that being reassigned as just a Pioneer you wouldn't get money from Bethel.

  What was the strangest off-the-cuff remark you ever heard from and elder or higher appointee?

  i showed up for saturday morning field service and i was partnered with an elder who had transferred to our congregation in the dallas, texas area from michigan.

  i told him about a recent embarrassing moment where i had played a "worldly" song during the sunday meeting due to someone replacing the cassette i had placed in the cassette player late friday night that had the correct "kingdom melody.".

  out of the blue he said "about 4 years ago i was giving the sunday talk and i kept sporting a boner from time to time which was bizarre since being horny and teaching about jehovah is typically not something one associates with one another.".

  How the college educated/employed "weak" JW's will soon be "used"

  once these laid off bethelites are released from their duties, where will they go?.

  how many will turn to their "spiritually weak" families for a place to live, a meal or financial aid?

  the ones who have been criticized over the years for attending college and getting a good job may soon become an asset to the ones who have been relieved of their duties .

  Totally disagree with you Sabin. Not that easy to hide it when people are looking.

  Also, their growth is mostly with very poor people or born-ins that rarely get a college education. Not like years before when people coming in had a college education.

  And, yes, very educated people have lost a lost of money in bad investments, it is possible.

  Dubstepped - I think it was multiple investments.

  Also, I agree with you, the child abuse lawsuits probably wouldn't be a drop in the bucket.

  Dario- also, yes, I believe it is that simple. I think they really screwed themselves over with bad investments. Don't think the child abuse lawsuits would be causing this much damage.

  Dario- I don't believe so, because (correct me if I'm wrong) but they are setup that there is one main company (the parent company) and all the other companies are attached to the parent. Therefore, one balance sheet.

  A simple explanation for the financial changes

  as i've mentioned from time to time, i'm a retired accountant.

  i have tried many times to come up with some logical, sound business reason why the wtbs has made the big changes in its financial arrangements: taking the congregations savings, the monthly donations per congregation etc.

  i finally came up with the answer.. the leadership of the watchtower society is batshit crazy.
